This has got to be one of the more fascinating threads! Really. I appreciate reading about all your backgrounds (not to mention the contributions you've made by being an engineer).

I haven't "driven" a train or trolley, but I can say that I may be one of the few on CF to have piloted a very large tug boat, and not just once! (of course, I was a kid, and there was an experienced harbor pilot and tug captain right at my side ) If anyone knows the company name, it's long gone but not forgotten by me--- Dalzell Towing Co.

Doesn't qualify as an engineer, but sure was a helluva lot of fun.

Retired last year after 41 years as a mechanical engineer. I was fortunate to work with two engineers who led the development of the C5. That got me interested in Corvettes so I bought a 2007 Z06. Then I sold it, had a brief affair with a Porsche 911, but saw the light and am now looking for a Grand Sport.
In my last job I drove locomotives on the test track, so I guess that makes me a double engineer.

A Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering.

I used to do power plants, but I don't do engineer things for a living anymore.
