Default Poll: Is your C6 tranny Auto or Manual

Just curious to know how many auto tranny's vs manual tranny's are on the forum. I do not want to start a debate about which is better because i know that one is not better than the other, it is just matter of preference. I have owned both and find that both have their advantages and disadvantages. Our current 2011 GS convertible is an auto but our previous 09 coupe with z51 option was a manual. Our C5 was an auto and before that our Camaro z28 was a manual and before that our Pontiac Trans AM was a manual . So argue if you must but that is not the purpose of this pole.

Manual until Corvette offers a true DCM transmission .Then an extended road test will be in order.

When I bought my '05 last year it was in such good shape and had all options I didn't really care if it was auto or manual. I would have taken it either way and I did. It is auto. I've had my share of manual in the last 35 years and since I'm stuck in traffic a lot here in Vegas I'm glad I have an auto.

Why do the auto guys always have to try and justify it?
Be proud of your auto, you don't need to prove crap the the manual guys.

For myself, a manual transmission is the only way to go in a Corvette! I enjoy shifting and to me, it makes the Corvette experience more fun! I have had a few automatic Vettes, but never enjoyed them as much! Again, there are advantages and disadvantages to both and everyone does have their preference.

Mine is manual. It took a while to find it. No dealers in Houston were stocking manuals when I was ready to buy.

The wife had no say so on this one. My 91 was an automatic and she still would not drive it. So this time I got what I wanted.

I am proud of it. Not only that but I'm proud it's an A4 and not an A6.

Well, if you spend some time at the drag strip, you will find that the majority of all the fast bracket cars (trailered and non-trailered) are all automatics.

Just the way it is

I got A6 so my wife can drive it sometimes. My TA has a 5 spd od so that's where my passion lies.

I bought an A6 so wifey could drive it. She did, once, 5 years ago for 5 minutes. She said she was too nervous. However, I don't regret getting the A6....the car, an LS2 runs great and I've won plenty of trophies at Englishtown...and guess what?? Never missed a shift!! Haha. But, if I were to buy another Corvette tomorrow, I think I'd spend that money on something else. I do love a 6 speed manual and miss the one in my C5.
