Default Does anyone make a mesh top?

I stumbled on this mesh top made by a guy for the Lotus Elise and thought it seemed really cool. Does anyone make them for Corvettes? All my searches just come up with mesh grill or wheel results.

That's nice! I'm sure one could be designed for the C6.

I'd buy one. It would be perfect for the long stretches of sunshine here in Southern California. They could put it on a similar Corvette targa frame and it would be so much lighter and easier to handle.

The Elise has a soft top and a system to support this top already. The C6 does not. This would not be easy or cheap to adapt.

Might work ok on the coupe.

One of the vendors here already has a similar product for the coupe, but it's designed to protect against dust or unexpected rain while parked, not for use while driving. I wonder if it could be modified?

The carbrella tops would not work for this use. They adhere via suction cups, so not good at speed.

I agree with JimmyLee - this would work well with the coupe targa frame. I have an extra one laying around.... Looks like I may have a new winter project!

Hey Joe, I've got some vinyl screen window mesh left over from rescreening windows and if you want we coud work on that here.

Go to Home Depot or Lowes and buy some window screen, fabricate a screen roof. Heck, you could even add side curtains for driving in the swamps!

The perfect type of screen material would be that used on a product called the "Baby Barrier" which is actually a temporary black screen fence used around swimming pools to protect toddlers from accidentally falling into the pool. It has the right weight and durability for this application. www.babybarrier.com

Wish I had a spare roof frame to do this on - it is a great idea

You gotta do it this Winter and post pictures! Seems that the screen material would need to be stiff enough (or supported enough) so that there isn't a problem at 75 MPH.

You could become our next vendor, lol.

without that center bar in the opening that the Lotus has, you are talking about major flopping of a top of that material on the C6..... just sayin

The carbrella top is good for that, but you can't drive with it installed. I just might get one anyway.
