Default Quick rocker damage story.

Wife was at one of those discount automotive tire type shops today getting her oil changed (non vette). She was talking to the manager while waiting and the manager said he was having a bad day. I guess one of their techs tried to lift a new vette not knowing what he was doing and did 8k damage to the rocker panels and under carriage. Now my first question was why the hell was someone taking a new vette to one of these little shops. Hard lesson to learn about letting inexperienced shops work on your new vette. Then again, what the hell was she doing there .

I wouldn't even let them change the oil in my SUV. Too many horror stories about no oil or loose drain plugs.

This old video shows that even a pit isn't fool-proof.

And if you've ever wondered why customers are not allowed in the work area...

From the many stories on this forum the dealers are not any better.

This thread brings to mind a question: Would it be worthwhile to buy a set of aftermarket jack lifting pucks to take to the dealership when going for service? If so, which ones are the best?

Make your own out of four hockey pucks and four bolts. Takes about 15 minutes. I made a set for home and a set I keep in the Corvette.

Unfortunately this is true even though Corvettes have had rocker panels that rolled under the car since 1997!

I just had these installed at H.P. Performance here in Illinois. Makes it nearly impossible to damage your underside. I paid $289 plus installation. I think they sell them online.
