Default Just installed the Progressive Snap Shot device in my Z06

So, Progressive claims that they will drop my insurance up to 30%, if i'm a "good driver." The device which plugs into your car, records speed, distance traveled, time car was driven, and when you brake hard. You can monitor it online and check how you were driving.

So far, i've taken my car out once. I drove about 2.3 miles to nearest McDonalds. When I logged into progressive.com, it gave me all the detailed information. It also said, that I "hard braked" twice (decelerating at a rate of 7mph in 1 sec). Which is total BS! I'm honestly scared to drive my car now lol... Lets see how this goes, ill keep you guys updated!

You're joking, right?

Or maybe just want to have a data base available showing how you drive a Z06!

That device is meant for Corolla, Camry, and Civic owners. In time, their rate will drop by 30%, which will compensated by us and yes our rates will increase!

Long story short: are you kidding right? How would you even think that device will help you save? It is like voluntarily being OK to traffic cameras as long as the penalty comes at a discount. Did you hear the term "big brother"?

I don't even like having Onstar on my car. I can see it now:

"We are sorry sir, but the GPS coordinates place you at Firebird International Raceway. We are going to void your powertrain warranty".

I make sure to wear my foil cap when I drive also. Don't want those mother smurfers reading my thoughts....

Yup... No big brother please.

That one time you screw up and you'd rather it not be known...

I can see the day where cars constantly transmit a VIN, gps loc, and speed.
Then if you go over the designated speed for that area you get a ticket in the mail.
Don't let anyone track you.
It's your freedom you are selling out.

LOL!! The best thing about this is....my premium won't increase!! Well....thats what they say. So, my plan is to drive around the block very slow once a week. My Z was my daily driver this past year. I finally realized I'm logging wayyyy too many miles and this would be the best tactic to just put it away....for awhile. I can't go a day without driving it....so wish me luck.... :-/

I love great marketing and this is great marketing. Riding right on the edge of telling a big fat obvious lie but still getting lots of people to believe it. Uh, if they give some people a 30% cut in premiums and don't increase anyone else's rates, won't that affect their profit margin? Oh, wait. This is one of those big friendly corporations that is only interested in making sure their customers collect more money from accidents than they pay in premiums. It's one of those co-op things where all the employees are volunteers, right?

I have enough oversight in my life from the government. I sure don't need any form an insurance company.

So would you sign up for voluntary castration to get a discount on condoms?

He has to be pulling our leg.
I don't think anyone is that much of a moron to buy a Z06 so they can drive around the block slowly so they can save a few dollars in insurance!

I think it would actually be impossible for someone to be that stupid and exist in this world.
