Default Brothers and Sisters in Black

In response to some other "color clubs" - this thread is for us, the hardest working vette owners - those with the color of black.

We do the most washing, dusting, obsessing, etc - than any other color out there.

With that said, we need a place to voice opinions, cleaning tips, etc...

Welcome to the DARK SIDE!

I always say that I love OTHER peoples black vehicles. Way too lazy myself to own one.

In all the 20 or so cars I have owned over the years the majority were/ are black.
(except for two GM pewters - loved that color).

Yes, we labor to keep them clean.
As for tricks...do not touch, always use new wash mitts and towels, California Duster, dry w/ leaf blowers, 3M cleaner wax is a super product to fix little things...like un-etched bird droppings.

This is my first black car so I was a little worried at first. It didn't turn out so bad after all.

I wash it once a month or after a long trip.
I detail it once or twice a week with Meguiars Ultimate Detailer.
I wipe the chrome wheels once or twice a week.
I dust the top with a soft Fox Tail Brush daily.
I dust her off daily with a California Duster.
I give her a good night kiss.

Not the "normal" black and our first black Corvette (we've had two other black cars):

there is nothing hotter than a freshly cleaned black car....there is nothing uglier than a dirty black car.

One black car was enough to get me to understand that I'll never have another one.

You know what they say....."Once you go black.....you'll be washing, dusting, and obsessing."

I once had a black camaro and swore I would never go black again. I then got a black C4 and reaffirmed myself why. They are hard to keep clean and hot as a motherfu%$er in the summer.

Turned to the brighter side of Arctic White and never looked back.

But congrats to all of you who can tolerate the challenges of black.
