Default Plastic air dam under front bumper

Is there a way to keep the air dam from grinding down in the corner? When I back out of the driveway even with the wheels turned and going down one at a time, it still scrapes.....any whay to prevent this
???

1. Smooth out your driveway
2. Park in the street

I scrape mine backing out of my driveway every time I drive it. Still looks fine to me. I don't mind at all.

if u can, try to leave your driveway going forward and not in reverse. Works for me.

On more than one occasion I've dragged it pulling in or out of places and mangled it up a bit. Had to throw it up on the ramps, crawl under there, loosen everything up, wiggle and smack it back in place, and tighten everything up. I'd consider pulling them off, but I understand that they play a role in the cars high speed stability, which I occasionally exercise.

150 & 220 sand paper work great to smooth out any rough spots on the plastic, then go over it with 303 or speed shine.

I have a 2011 Grand Sport convertible. I hit something in the road at speed and pulled some of the fasteners loose that hold my front "air dam/spoiler/diffuser" onto the car. This is the black plastic piece in the very front on the very bottom that scrapes every bump in the road. The spoiler is not torn/ruined. It is just not attacted to the piece above it. Also, I can't see how to get to the "nuts" (pieces that the fasteners attach to) - they are up inside my actual Yellow (in my case) body panels.

After 7 years as a Daily Driver with my steep dirveway, my air dam might be a bit shorter now. At this stage it's a non-issue for me. They are cheap and easy to replace, if one so desires.

That lower airdam is very flexable. I doubt that it plays much of a role in stability ...

But I do think it plays a very big role in directing air up into the radiator.
