I used 1-800-998-7900 last month and first guy I spoke to was "NOT" in the states due to his accent and inability to come to terms with my demands so he transfered me to a very nice woman who quickly agreed to my terms of $77.00 plus the music licensing fees. They billed me, I paid, they cashed my check and we're good to go for another year.

Good luck, my call took roughly 20 minutes of screwing around to accomplish my yearly renewal.

I have the Sirius version in my Mercedes and just renewed it for $88.00 with all the fees for one year. For me it was quick and easy. I told them that I wanted to cancel which I would have. The price was about $300 for 2 years, they immediately said that they wanted to keep me as a customer and made me the offer. They wouldn't let me pay for 2 years which I would have done.

Told them I was putting the Vette away for the winter and wanted to cancel. They agreed to shut it off. I then told them I would consider keeping it on for $77 for the year and the rep said okay!

I currently pay for 3 years at a time. Quite painless actually.

I think the best plan is not to renew. The Customer service really sux.
($77/year is the most to pay)

if you cancel..they will offer you 5 mos for 20 bucks...since alot of people put their cars away for the winter it might not be a bad deal.

I have found that the reception in the 08 it just terrible, on an open road with no trees over head...if the clouds get to thick I will lose the channel now and then...and heaven forbid I am traveling where there are trees or buildings...to me..when this subscription expires I am not going to bother with it. My 2004 Tahoe has far less interuptions to it. Something with the design of the Vettes antenna is just poor .

they already sent me a renewal notice on my 2012 thats a month old and has one year XM trial. I called to see why and their rep talked in circles and made no sense. I told him I have 4 chevy's and I negotiate the rates as they come due. He became arrogant as he told me their rates are fixed and as I told him he was wrong he said he was disconnecting the call. Ya wonder why this company has the reputation they have!! never give them a credit card

I understand your frustration but someone else said don't give them your credit card. Is there something to be concerned about?

When you call...go straight to the cancellation department!

They started me at 120 a year and I ended up getting it for 77.....this has worked for three years.
and
NEVER EVER EVER give them a credit card number or they will just bill you the max automatically

I am not hear to defend Sirius or XM but when I got my MB 3 years ago I had a 6 mo. trial and when it was over I paid them for a two year deal which was expensive but I had nothing to compare it to at the time. They took my CC # and everything was OK. I got a notice a couple of months ago that my subscription was going to be up and they told me in the mailing that the price was going to be $300 for 2 years. The notice said that my credit card on file with them would be charged and I would not have to do anything just sit back and enjoy. I called them as I mentioned above and ended up with the $88 rate they charged my CC for that amount and that was it.

They will not charge your CC without your permission, they have a lot more at stake. They are not a fly by night company. I always use my Amex for all my online and phone transactions because if there is a dispute I won't have to pay until it's settled and they always hold back on the CC vendors. I am sure most of the other CC comapnies out there offer the same protection.

We have Sirius/XM on 3 cars including the Vette. First got it about 5 years ago. Quality of service has deteriorated and customer service is horrible. Will be installing ipod adaptors on my Vette and daily driver and will be "firing" XM. I can't wait.

I felt I got ripped by XM. They finally justified their position by saying the $77.00 renewal I signed up for last year was only for six months.

While I would like to say never again I may sign up again in a few years, or not.

Civility prevents me from voiceing my dissatifaction in their less than equitable treatment of me.

Sincerely,

BAK

My three month trial is about to expire. Do I need to call and cancel, or will they just turn it off? They don't have my credit card info so they cant bill me, and I never agreed to any long term commitment.
