Are flatstoppers worth the money?
Thinking about winter storage and was wondering about flattstoppers. Are they worth the money? Best price Ive found is $251 on Amazon.

I have never found the need for them, old bias ply tires use to flat spot quickly, but these radials are like rocks.

Waste of money. I've seen people advocate using some 2' x 2' squares of 2" thick polystyrene insulation. The weight crushes the insulation around the tire and allegedly helps.
I've never used the method and don't believe it's necessary, never had any issues with tires.

Just bought them myself. Never had a problem with my '07, but after storing my '10 GS last year, ( on foam mats ), had flat spotting. It corrected itself after after a few hundred miles. Had a vibration at 75 mph that was just not there before storage, and eventually went away.

I had a set of flatstoppers. In my experience, they were really hard to get onto, and back out of. My front air dam is so low, it rubbed going on, so I didn't want to get a run at them. I spun trying to get up on them multiple times. Once I wanted to take my car off, I had to be pretty hard on the clutch to get the car to get out of them. My tires spun again, and the flatstoppers came flying out and hit my rockers. There was no damage, but I was P****D! Carpet squares for me!!

My Vette is stored for over 4 1/2 months, no issues with flat spots and I do not add additional air during storage although that might not be a bad idea as tire pressures will go down in cold weather.

I raise the tire pressure up to around 38lbs. Car has sat for months, never had a problem.
May be good on certain tires but I've never seen the need on the GY Run Flats.
Save your money.

why do people worry about this? can't you just drive it on the occasional sunny/dry day for a few miles after the engine is fully warmed? once every two weeks. why must it be stored all winter?

EXACTLY!!! Plus, SD winters bring around 100 inches of snow! Top that off with horrible snow removal, and its a no brainer.
