I've got a '07 Z51. Nice car, no issues. I would check the inside of the front tires for uneven wear and get it aligned immediately. I'm currently at 105K miles with no problems. Car drives like it was new!

2007 should be a solid year. Low Miles too. I have a 2005 and there were issues with these i figured out after the fact but the 07 besides having the LS2 vs the LS3 is really the only thing to make note of mainly.

The Z51 optional suspension was recommended for autocrossing, which usually takes place on nice flat and smooth pavements. Some find the stiffer springs, sway bars and shocks of this suspension provide a rough ride and a tendency to skitter and dart on rougher roads and bumpy curves. The softer summer tires that came with this suspension are also known for wearing out twice as fast, tend to get get slippery below 50 degrees F., and tend to hydroplane more easily than those that come on the base vehicle or Vettes equipped with the optional F55 adjustible magnetic suspension.

I have an 07' LMB Z-51 Coupe, bought new. It now has 34,000 miles and the only thing I had to have done was the fluid in the rearend change. It was done free of charge by the dealer. Other than that, (knock on wood) no problems. I did change tires at 28,000 miles because of cords showing through on the inner fronts. I put on Michelin A/S Plus ZP tires and had an alighnment done. So far, so good. I do not track my Vette. It's only for cruising and enjoying the countryside. I think it's a great car.

Wow, 28K on the original Goodyear "Super Car" tires that are OEM on the Z51? That must be a record.

Back to the OP. I have an ’07 Z51 also that I bought new. Most "gremlins" have been worked out from the previous 2 model years. I have had no out of the ordinary problems with it. Seems like you’ve found a nice low mileage car. Take note that you would still have a 5 yr 100k drive train warranty still in effect on it.

As previously mentioned in this thread, the tires that come on a Z51-equipped C6 are softer rubber for better road gripping on normal pavement. However, those tires also have slightly less tread when new than tires on other base C6s.

Base C6s not equipped with the Z51 option package have 10/32" of tread on the front tires and 11/32" of tread on the rear tires. Base C6s with the Z51 option package have 9/32" of tread on each of the 4 tires. Typical tire life for most Z51-equipped base C6s is about 12K to 15K miles, although there are a few exceptions.

The LS2 engine is a very reliable performer. You get 400 hp verses 430 hp on the LS3.

The 07 is strong, solid, mostly trouble free car.

Agree with others above about suspension.. Got mnie as base with F55 which offers a very nice 'compromise' of suspensions.

Either way, can't go wrong.

Yeah well, I'm pretty easy on my Vette. I had it out on a couple of 2,000 miles drives, but, actually it was a daily driver. Most of the drives were on highways. The roads weren't bad and I'm pretty easy on the go pedal, but, I do let her stretch her legs now and then. Quite frankly, I was appalled, when, I heard about the wear on these tires and I was determined to get the most out of them. I'm not a skin flint, but, spending $1,000 to $1,800 on a set of tires every year seems rediculous to me. And yes, I know it's a sports car with plenty of bang for the buck, but, my bucks only go so far. I'm enjoying my Vette the way I want to and maybe saving a few bucks on rubber. To each his own.

Meant no offense. I'm at 34K and I've gone through 2 sets of tires. The roads are great around here and most of my miles are highway miles.

I'm sorry, no offense taken. I was just explaining how I got 28,000 miles on the Supercar tires. I was uninformed about the tire wear, when, I got my Vette. I didn't realize the wear factor on these tires, until, I joined the forum, back then. I'd been out of Vettes for 34 yrs and should have done a little more homework, I guess. But I'm extremely happy with my 07' coupe. It's truly a dream car for me and I love every minute behind the wheel.

I have an 07Z51 2007 and love the car! The ride is not stiff. The 2004 Nissan 350Z I traded in was a stiffer ride than the Vette.

I also have a 2007 with Z51 that I purchased with 9100 miles. It is a great car, no problems though I have had to reset the drivers side window indexing a couple of times for unknown reasons (easy to do, explained in the manual). I now have almost 16,000 miles and need to replace the tires. I plan to get Michelin Pilot Sport A/S + ZP as replacements....about $1300 for the tires. I do not drive the car hard, the original tires left a lot to be desired (for me anyway).

I managed 32K-34K out of my OEM SC tires but when I saw how bad the fronts were, I stopped driving it instantly...they were really, really bad. I replaced them with Kumohs all the way around, had it aligned for freeways only and mileage. I'm still on that set of Kumohs and as stated earlier, at 105K miles now. I think I'll get another couple of months out of them. The rears are now just down to the wear bars. The fronts are still in decent shape.

I did the same thing, traded in my 04 350Z for a new 07 Z51 A6 Vet.

I Bought my 07 Z51 A6 with 2 miles on it and now I have well over 120,000 on the OD. They are great cars!

OP: I had the wobbles on my 07 LS2 so I had it replaced with these two items and never looked back.

http://store.katechengines.com/bille...sioner-p2.aspx

http://store.katechengines.com/ati-s...ts-v-p230.aspx

Also two other small items, that makes a big differance IMO are

C6 Center Console Insulator.

Padded Leather Center Console.

Good Luck!
