2011 GS Splash Guard Question
Okay I just bought a used 2011 GS with 6000 miles and this is look of the splash guards...
Is this the normal look after 6000 miles?... can they be painted... looks kind of chessy to me on a 70k+ car!
Thoughts?

Think of how cheesy your paint would look if it wasn't for the splash guard. They are molded plastic. You likely could paint them but you'd end up doing it quite a bit. They are meant to be sacrificial. By the way, those aren't factory parts.

I am not denying the paint protection... definitely want them... I just wish they didn't look so abused

I just went out to the garage, mine look like this, maybe a rattle can of chip resistant flat black over the winter may be called for on these,it seems the color of the material does not go all the way through?

Those OEM splash guards on the rear don't get pitted up like that.

WOW . . . That's funky! If they were molded, they would be the same color all the way thru! If they are made of ABS, Try using a heat gun on them. When ABS is stressed, it turns white. When you heat it up, it turn back to the original, molded color.
