VOID Warranty or NOT TO VOID warranty?
I want headers, cam, and a tune really bad on my Z06, but is it worth it to void the warranty. Main concern is the motor giving out on me.
What you guys think, is it worth it?

I'm sure you'll get plenty of responses that it is only up to you to decide, and it is.
How much extra enjoyment will you get out of the mods? Is this a track car, or street car? Is that worth the small, but definitely existing possibility that you have an major issue?
Can you easily fork over the thousands of dollars for a major repair if needed, or would you be piling up credit card debt to do so?
No one else should help spend your money.

how close till the end of your warranty are you?, but I have never cared about a warranty when i want to do something, be ready to spend a few thousand for those mods, It should get you about 80hp is that worth it.

Search on motor warranty claims...
Ive been on here a few months and have read 2-3 already
GM stands behind it & dropped in a new motor for owners

Personally for me it is not worth the possible agrivation to spend a bunch of money on mods. GM did a good job of engineering & I'm happy with power, handling & stopping available. My $.02

You can untune the car any time to bring in for a major service situation. I did this a few times successfully without the dealer questioning anything while I was under warranty last year. I don't think headers would be an issue unless something exhaust related occurs. I could be wrong especially if your dealer starts to nit pick. As for the cam why not add it after warranty expires to play it safe. At least you will pick up some power over your stock set up. Trust me you will be very happy with a tune and headers! I was on my base 07. It felt like a new car! I also did the Vararam at the same time.
I love the difference!!

Alright guys, my car is a 2006, so I did purchase a Aftermarket warranty. Its 5 yrs/100k miles. As of now, I have 25k miles on my car and about 4 years left on the warranty. I def do not have a extra 25k laying around to buy another crate LS7!!! But, thats my worry...some say the motor won't go, some(very few) say it will.

It's all up to the owner's individual circumstances. For myself ,I would have to set $15K in an account earmarked for "Corvette Repairs" to cover a blown motor and/or drivetrain. Another reason, if this is not good enough, is I'm not letting GM off the hook for a warranty that I paid for on a new car purchase.

I saw a Z06 with a blown motor, at the time the C6 Z06 was fairly new and I think the motor was $25k. Car probably had 20,000 miles on it. GM came out denied the claim and the car got towed back to the owner.

Honestly the best thing wold be to find a fellow Z owner with similar mods and drive it or ride in it before you do it. I know most people who do mods will say they are glad after but it is unlikely many are going to spend $1000's and then say it was a stupid idea. If you could drive something similar beforehand it should give you an idea of whether the mods are worth it over the warranty.
