Default Where are all the sleepers?

We see highly modified vettes all the time, widebodys ect... I myself am a big fan of sleepers (as much of a sleeper as a vette can be anyway, I mean its already a vette lol), not a big appearance mod guy.

So lets see all the highly modified engines putting down big numbers in a relatively stock body. Doesn't even have to be a corvette, lets see what ever you have that fits the definition!!

You already pointed out the problem. How can a car like the Corvette, which looks fast even when it's parked, ever be considered a sleeper.

The badazz vettes that look stock usually hang out in the tune & performance section (they tend to be less interested in our wax wars.....lol!).

Hopefully, it'll be posted somewhere else if it's not a Vette.

A friend has a 07 C6 vert. Looks all stock except for the exhaust tips. But when he goes WOT the twin turbo's let you know that it is a true sleeper.

I agree with Xedes that all Corvettes look and are relatively fast but to me a sleeper implies a stock look with faster than stock performance. I'm not a big appearance mod guy either. A widebody conversion doesn't necessarily mean enhanced engine performance. In fact, it seems to me most who do the widebody conversion do so primarily for appearance. Many widebody's are 'anti-sleepers'....looks like a Z06 but runs like a C6. My car is performance modified and until recently was in a stock body (with wider wheels/tires though). The sound of the car, however, was always a dead give-away that it wasn't stock. A true sleeper it never was.

The very best sleeper out there...and perhaps one of the best of all time, would be a brand new CTS-V. Even if you leave the factory badges in place most people have no screaming clue what a monster the car is.

As for vettes I wish it was possible to order a "narrow body" C6 with a ZR1 engine, drivetrain and suspension. Don't know if that SC would fit under the LS3 hood.....maybe. If not then a really mild almost invisible bulge. Yah, the tires would not be as wide but , IMO, tires are too wide on the wide body cars.

Not 'highly' modified but putting down 520 to the wheels. CCW wheels(Z06 tires), Z06 brakes and tint are the only exterior mods Ive done. And with NPP it can be as quiet as stock also. Looks pretty damn close to OEM, the way I like it. I saw the 05 Corvette and loved it at first sight. The looks alone was one of the big reasons for buying. I still like it better than what they're doing now. No offense, personal preference.

The sleepers are out there all over the place. The reason you don't see them is because they are sleepers.

Yep, no one can sleep when you're running the LG Sports with a Vortec Blower: My neighbors know when I'm driving the Vette

Stock does not mean sleeper, sleeper is more of a car that exhibits performance you would not expect or guess it had based on the appearance. A ZR1 is def NOT a sleeper, I don't think sleepers are allowed to have a window on the hood
