Any chemical you put on a cashmere top will affect the material. I avoid chemicals when I can.
I use only a mild soap and water on my '05 top. I brush it and keep it clean. I never put the top down wet or dirty. Looks great, water beads-up, no fading.

I just ordered my Raggtop based on this thread. My top looks perfect on my 07, and I want to keep it that way. Just got the car in January so I don't know the level of care prior to me. Car was flawless so I would imagine it was pretty good, so I need to keep it that way.

Melting Slicks
Works great and never use the cleaner without following up with the sealer afterward.
Used it on the C5 convert I just sold with a lite Oak top and at 10 1/2 years and 95k miles it still looked like new and the water beaded on it like a fresh wax job on a car does.
