Irene killed my Carlisle
Well, I live on the water off of the Chesapeake Bay, VA and I made the decision to cancel my trip to Carlisle two days ago , watching the storm track.
This would have been my first Carlisle trip and am disappointed. My pass is now a $60 "dontation". Oh well, try again next year.
For those that do make it, enjoy and post some pictures so I can see what I missed!

Yea it really sucks man. We cancelled our cruise in but were still gonna go. Just cramming all the guys into the truck and other cars. To bad though the best part is the cruise. Oh well always next year.

Why not go Friday. Weather.com is showing a 0% prediction of rain. You can still enjoy Carlisle.. while avoiding both the rain & big weekend crowd. This is what vacation days were made for.
Dont waste the $60 bucks.. drive up early Friday morning.

Vacation doesn't matter to me. I'm retired.
It's a 5 hour drive for me, not counting stops. Not an easy one day trip.
Thought about going up Thursday coming back Saturday but Irene has been moved up to hit close by at 2 p.m. Saturday.
I'm pulling water toys off the dock. The water surge is going to be close to 6 ft. That means my dock will be under water. Not good.
Next job, pull all the boat lift motors off so they don't go under! Ask me if I'm having fun yet!

Was leaving from Atlanta today but scrubbed the trip. I know that according to weather.com Friday is supposed to be clear but guessing that is going to change as the storm approaches. I could be wrong. To all the brave soles that are going to make the trip good luck and have fun.

We're here and will be here through Sunday. I don't think she'll bother us this far inland through Sunday. Weather channel says she won't make it this far north and west until late Sunday, if at all.

Do not cancel based on a forecast that far in advance. The projected storm track has changed several times. Very good chance that the storm track will be far enough east to have only a minor impact on Carlisle.

Still planning on beginning the 3 hr. drive at 8:00am Friday. Forecast still good for all day Friday. Should arrive Carlisle around 11:00am. Stay till around 4:00pm (5 hours there). Return before dinner Friday evening. Works for me.
See Ya.

I See your in flemington, carjo. I have a buisness trip and don't get back till Friday night. Im thinking I'm heading over Saturday morning from Lambertville, NJ back Saturday night. Carlisle should be fine Sunday except for rain but we are about 45 miles from the coast so should be fun....See if it gets a little sporting on Sunday...

We plan to go for just the day on Saturday but scrubbed the idea of driving the '95 and kenneling the pups.
Does anyone know if you can walk your dogs along with you through the event, we pick-up after them....??
