Anybody use a high petformance oil filter?

Retired & lovin' it!
All great suggestions and think I will stick to the higher quality filters. K&N or Mobil 1. I see the K&N's for $9.99 on amazon.com so thats a score! It makes sense in the long run. I only put a couple thousand miles a year on the car so I usually change my oil once or twice a year max so spending the extra $5-10 to play it safe makes sense.
Thanks for the feedback and sugegstions!

The PF-46 on LS2 & PF-48 on LS3 IIRC will do the job, but a Mobil 1 or a Purolator PureONE filter is much better. You decide if it’s worth a few extra bucks a year

The UPF48R is a lot different then the PF48 filter. The UPF48R is the same as the Mobil1 and the K&N filters. The main problem with the UPF48R filter, is trying to locate them locally. Every auto parts store usually carries the Mobil1 and the K&n brands but not the ACDelco brand. And when they do, like at Walmart, it's hard to find the UPF48R on the shelf because so few cars specify that part number.

No comparison between the PF48 and the UPF48R oil filters.
I have never seen the UPF48R on the shelf in the auto parts stores locally.
GM Parts House and Rock Auto are two (2) excellent sources.

According to the minimopar comparison site, the Mobil 1 and K&N are more or less the same filter made by the same manufacturer less the removal nut on the K&N. Both are good, but I use the Mobil 1. Also have liked the Purolator Pure One in the past. Amsoil makes a great filter but is pricier. Had to laugh that the Chevy dealer I purchased my car from uses Amsoil filters over the AC's for oil changes on the Corvettes they service.
Bottom line, most filters are good with the expection of anything made by Fram.

AC Delco.
The factory stands behind it with a 100K mile warranty. Good enough for me.
I work at a dealership and see too many concerns with aftermarket filters. Not worth it IMO.

In 52 years of automobile ownership, I have only had one occasion in which I had a problem with an oil filter. That was with a AC Delco PF44 installed by the Chevrolet dealership on my C5. Now, I only use WIX, Mobil1 and K&N.

The 2007 LS2, as do the later LS3 and all LS7 and LS9 engines, use the ACDelco PF48 filter, ACDelco UPF48R filter, Mobil1 M1-113 filter, K&N HP-1017 filter. If you have difficulty finding those filters the eith ther Purolator PL12222 ot the WIX 57060 are excellent filters.
