Default Red Lion Customs – Closing up shop

Greetings all. I just wanted to get this out on the forum a little early so that more members would have a chance to see it. As of the 8th of September I will no longer be a supporting vendor on the Corvette Forum.

I started this venture a couple of years ago mostly to help a friend and keep some great products available on the forum while hoping to make something out of it. Unfortunately, due to my schedule and other responsibilities I was not able to devote the amount of attention to the effort to really make it work. Naturally, and as would be the case, that void created was filled with other vendors. While the products that I sold and associated myself with stand on their own merit for quality and longevity, like anything else there were new versions and in many cases, less expensive versions that I simply could not compete with. I hoped that my contributions and my reputation on the forum would somehow differentiate me and keep people interested in purchasing from me but it seems that I grossly overestimated this factor.

I had truly hoped that this was to be my chance to combine my passion for the Corvette and desire to help Corvette owners with a legitimate business opportunity. In any event there are still going to be plenty of vendors who carry the products that I sold and plenty more offering products similar in nature to compete for your buying dollars.

For my existing customers, I will be happy to offer assistance in any way that I can and will of course stand behind my products. I ask that you consider vendors like Top Flight Reproductions for your product needs as Peter has always been a friend and honest vendor who makes and sells fantastic products and offers excellent customer service as well as carrying most all of the products that I offered.

I will be returning to life as just another forum member. What I ask of all of you is that going forward you choose to refrain from bringing up any stray posts of mine that are commercial in nature. My product for sale threads will be deleted and I’ll be working to remove all other posts of mine that are commercial in nature. All such posts and threads will be simply be treated as non-supporting vendor posts and will be deleted by the forum moderators.

I’ll be taking down the commercial portion of my website so any links will simply dead-end. I will still be around the forum and just going back to trying to help Corvette owners resolve issues with their cars.

To all my past customers, thank you.

I also want to thank Savewave, the forum administration and moderators and Internet Brands for allowing me to give this a try and enabling my hopefully graceful exit.

See you around the forum,
Paul

Nice post! Glad to have you back as a member of the grouperoni, Paul. Not that you weren't as a vendor, just a little more working related.

Sorry to hear that, Paul, but we've all got to do what we think best for ourselves. Glad you're staying on the forum, though, and I'm sure many here will continue to benefit from your knowledge and experience as they have in the past.

The vendor competition is a little stiff around here. And as stated, many offer the same products. Sorry it didn't work out for ya. But I'm glad you'll still be around the forum.

I have learned much from what you have shared here on this forum. I measure other members posts by the factual information you provide. You respond to the newbies in a kind and supportive manner even though you probably have heard their questions a thousand times over the years. Please continue to be an active member. There are many members like me who do not post a lot, but we read and learn a great deal from what you share. Thanks.....

Hey Paul! Sorry to hear this. BUT, you know I won't be a stranger. I'll still bend your ear when I need some advice. And, I'll see you at the next Bash (if not sooner). I always look forward to your posts - you're one smart cookie!!
