Default What Tires on a New C6

I was just wondering what tires are on the "NEW" 2011 and 2012 C6's that are being bought.. are they (Chevy) still using the Supercar tires that were originally on my 2005 ?

If GM is using a different tire which one... BTW I have the coupe NOT a ZO6 ... & I'm in the market for new two new front tires, & would like to keep the price under $200 each...

I'll have to look up the Firestone's RF but I think they are more than $200 ... I might go to a non RF and keep a Fix a Flat kit and 12 Volt compresser... I race the car but only in a straight line (1/4 mile @ 117 mph) so I don't need super high performance tires..and I don't push the limit on the street...

Thanks

John, I don't know, but a call to your dealer should confirm this info. I believe the tires are the same.

From 2005 through 2009, Z51 cars came with the Supercar tires while the base suspension cars came with GS-2 tires. Since the GS replaced the Z51 in 2010+, the larger Supercar tires(same tires as on the Z06) come on them while the base C6 still have the GS-2 tires.

Thanks Joe..... I'm about ready for new tires and the Supercar's wear too damn fast for me... I need something that will last 20,000 miles...

I have a back and forth e-mail going with Mich. to see if and when the pilot super sports will be made in C6 & Z06 sizes. They claim the same perfomance as the PS2's with a little longer tread life.

I ran the Michelin A/S tires on my C5 and was really impressed with them. You are correct though, the soft compound Supercar tires sure wear fast. I've heard good reports on the Firestones.
