Default I'm so tired of scrubbing going out of my driveway.

Can that lower air diverter under the front end be trimmed down? I have the same driveway I had when I had my Porsche and I never bottomed out on anything.

Your driveway will trim it down eventually, but I guess you could buy a new one and trim it down and install it. I would just leave it as is because sounds worse than it actually is.

I consider it a disposable piece.
You can add a item from blockit to help in the driveway, but you don't eliminate all the other places it scrapes during the normal course of driving around.

This IS my new house.... lol

Does there happen to be a DIY link for removing and trimming it? Or is it a no brainer and really easy? I've never looked under the car to see how it's affixed to the car.

It is just noise - doesn't hurt anything.

The air dam is three pieces. The middle one directs air into the radiator which is needed. The outer two, which do most of the scraping, direct air into the brake ducts, needed only if you track your car.

I took the outer two off and the scraping was greatly reduced.

This is what I did also.

Just let it grind it doesnt hurt a thing. As long as you are just grinding the rubber, dont worry about it.

All the curb ramps out there are great and a perfect solution, except all the ones I've seen (like Bridjit) are black and look fugly. They should be light grey - like the dang curb?

Yeah, which is why I couldn't do that in my neighborhood. My HOA would most likely tell me to remove them.

Not too mention they just sit on the ground and would get stolen. I don't need a once in a while option. I need a permanent solution.

When we moved one of the conditions was that the vette didn,t scrape in the driveway like at the old house. I rejected several houses because the problem was there. Almost caused a fight a couple of times. I held out and we found the house that worked for both of us. Good thing, the house was cheaper than a divorce. HaHaHa

WOW! I'm impressed. Please tell us your technique on removing and replacing the center section!

All 3 pieces sell for a combined cost of around >$100.

Makes them pretty much disposable.

you're not bottoming out. get used to it or turn the radio up so you can't hear it. it's normal, you're not hurting anything.

For me, this has been going on for years without damage. It's just the plastic. Don't worry, be happy.

The center section of the air dam is flexible and it is designed to flex. It will last years before you wear it down too much. It is not a big deal, just an annoying sound.

I trimmed about two inches off the center because it was already damaged. The sides were missing when I bought it. I bought a replacement air dam but I haven't installed it yet. I see no overheating problems. She runs at 190 on 90 degree days.
