Default Goodbye to All

Well , I traded my 2008 1LT vette for a brand new 2011 Camaro today . I just wanted to say that I have been a member on a off here for about 10 years or so and have found it a really great place to hang around and get some good info. . Also some good laughs .

I will miss my vette but it sat in the garage alot and only had 13500 miles when I sold it today . I basically had a DD for work and drove the vette sparingly which I enjoyed every minute of . It just made more sense to get out of the car and get into a car that is more practical and comfortable to drive around in every day . I am also cutting my payments in half and don't have to pay for insurance on a work vehicle anymore .

I would like to thank all the good folks here for the great information I received when I had some issues with my ride . I will truly miss those people .

On the other hand I will not miss the smart aleck , have to comment on every post whether I know what I am talking about or not people . I will definitely not miss that end of this forum

I wish everyone the best and who knows , maybe I will be in a C7 .

Regards ,

Chris

Thank you , believe it or not I am really diggin the ride . The new camaro is a cool vehicle . The six cylinder has some pep and the RS package makes the car look just like an SS model . The interior is very spacious and is lit up like an old time juke box , it's really nice .

Congrats on the new car, they are one of the best looking cars on the road today

I can relate to your situation, I have had a very busy year at work and also drive the DD much more often for it's practicality....the Z06 has only been driven 3k miles this year (I usually average 12k a year on my vettes) and I feel like I'm not getting the chance to really enjoy it anymore
If the CTS-V line gave closer to 30mpg highway as opposed to 19, I'd probably purchase one for it's dual purpose (fun/practical)

Guess ya need to do things sometimes, and sure cant blame you about the monthly payment thing. I'm always looking at ways to keep monthly cost down, like basic cable cell, ext, but keeping the Vette, as its payed for. I think the Camaros ok, but wish GM would've made it a bit smaller/lighter. My daily cars an 08' Pontiac GXP coupe 3.6/A6(they dont make these anymore), and really think it's more my size. Not sure exactly when GM's making the change, but the 12' 3.6 DI engines being lightened a bit and gaining 10 hp. I've seen prototypes of this engine, and the exhaust manifolds actually part of the cylinder head.

Check out www.Camaro5.com

I found it to be the most active forum when it comes to the new Camaro. Enjoy your new car.

Why the goodbye?

There are many Corvette-less members that still frequent this forum.
Or maybe you just want props for the new Camaro
Ok. Congrats!

I only have 2 complaints with the new Camaro: visibility and the way you sit in it. You sit up so high I feel like I'm in a truck Perhaps the two are related. They should have cut the window line further back into the b-pillar.
