It is interesting to hear both sides of the story. I think each vehicle serves its own purpose. I bought a 2010 Camaro 2SS back in January and it is the best GM vehicle I've ever had. I've also put almost $15,000 in mods into it and I am not even into the engine yet.

My sister recently bought a 2011 Grand Sport Convertible. After driving both I don't know that I share some of the opinions here.

I have the Inferno Orange accented interior which I have also improved upon myself with custom painting the center console and a ton of other mods and all. But the interior of the 3LT GS has nothing over my Camaro. I like eye candy so that is really my opinion, but my interior is a lot sweeter looking.

I have done a few engine mods to mine and I have around 500HP. I have a six speed and the GS has an A6. The A6 did not seem to have the same power that my Camaro has. Now is that due to the extra horsepower I have or is it due to the manual transmission? I don't know.

The Camaro is not hard to see out of, at all. I have installed a modified GM back-up camera system in mine and I don't have any problem seeing around me when I'm in it. I have my seat adjusted down so it also does not feel like it is sitting up real high.

As far as the trunk, I mean in a car like these who really is going to use it? My Camaro is currently in the shop for a total custom stereo, in which a lot of the trunk space will be lost. I don't really care though as when I go somewhere I don't normally take the Camaro.

But, each vehicle is its own beast. I don't feel as if the GS handles that much better than the Camaro. I do have some PFADT sway bars for the Camaro I haven't installed yet.

Am I the only one that wants to see pics of his new Camaro?

Congrats on the new ride. They are wicked looking cars with a huge aftermarket following if you decide to add your own touches.

Congrats on the new Camaro. I think they are totally hot cars. Hang around here for the laughs. Sometimes that's all that brightens up my day is reading some of the stuff on here. It's totally habit forming.

What color? Show us a pic!

For the mention of these cars not handling so good(compared to a Vette), LG Motorsports send's me news letters, and carries Gen 5 spring and sway bar upgrades. Maybe something to look into.

Anyone who trades in a vette for a camaro to reduce their monthly car payment in HALF to help out their financial situation is a GOOD enough reason for me ! Enjoy the camaro and like my father always saysMAY YOUR PAYMENTS COME EASY!!

Enjoy, I traded my modded 06A6 for a 2011 SGM Callaway Camaro (their first green). Poor visibility was major complaint but loved the 6sp man. To large also, My dealer received a low mileage(8850) 09 Callaway 580 vert. Needless to say we came to a fair dear and I left the Camaro behind. Did not realize I missed the vette so much. An yes the 6sp makes the diff on both cars. Enjoy the extra seats.

I've been on BIR with Camaro SS's and while they have the same power, they are easy to catch with the GS in the twisties where the GS really shines. Of course the Camaro doesn't have the tires or traction the GS has.

awwww he took the time to personally say "goodbye" to me

i'd love a black on black on black Camaro but only as a supplement. I wouldn't trade my vette for it but hey, that's just me.

But for 1/2 the money? Hell yeah!

enjoy!!!

I wish you well with your Camaro! I just traded out my 2011 1SS into an '08 Corvette. The car was great fun, and has a killer style but the feeling of driving a highspeed tank just wore on me after just six months of ownership. I enjoy spirited turn-taking and as others said, that really is not its strong point.

I hope the V6 Camaro still gives you some kick, even in the SS it felt a bit...sluggish at times due to the car's uh....fatness.

Check out Camaro5.com when you get a chance, its quite crowded there but there is TONS of advice and DIY guides.

OP,

Man, that must have been some blow to the head. Sounds like you're lucky to be alive.

Hopefully you've got some top medical talent tending to you, and when the swelling goes down there won't be any residual brain damage.

Good luck with the recovery. . .

.

j/k

(enjoy the new ride, and it's pefectly fine to stop by and visit here; we still luv ya, man).

I don't get the concept but if it is what the OP needs then it is his decision. 08 coupe worth 35-37k. New Camaro 6 banger...27-29k (plus sales tax?). Not much of a difference unless you have only 2 yrs left on the Vette loan and now you've reduced the monthly' but extended your debt to 72-84mo (6-7 freakin years) on a new camaro...total dollars with interest to be paid....more expensive now with the Camaro. Simply going by monthly payments can lead to financial ruin.

But hey, OP may be in a situtation where he needs every dollar he can save in terms of the monthly...

That's funny! I originally wanted a Camaro but bought a c6 instead because I found my car for at least $8,000 cheaper than I could find Camaro SS... And my insurance is cheaper for my vette than it would have been for the Camaro.

Ironic!

My brother in law has a an 11 RS. I don't care how much HP it could have. The ergonomics, visibility, and gauge system suck. At least for me.....
