Modding is an art/craft/hobby I've always enjoyed customizing my cars a little bit. As I stated earlier I have made mistakes , but learned from them on my C6 for the most part.
Modding comes down to what a great deal of other things do in life and that is $$$$$
As the saying goes, you gotta pay to play. Some are happy stock, and some are not. To each his own. No right or wrong answer over all, its what works best for you and your car and are you happy with it.

No. I did make a few mods on my 06 MR vert that were not up to what I expected...ie MR console and guage pods.
My 07 is perfect for me , love every mod. Only problem I have had was buying the dual tops. Tried to use the clear top in spring. Temp went to 100 that day and the inside of the car had to be 180. Burned my arm on seatbelt buckel. Sold the clear top the next week and have had 0 regrets.
Just too darn hot down here for the cleat top.

I put under-drive pullys on a Vette once........ Terrible idea; no real improvement in performance, and a continuing problem with under charged batteries! Never again!

What did you hate about the explorer? I have a '03 and like it but wanted to eventually get one from that generation before they killed it by going unibody. When I buy a SUV I want it to have a truck frame, otherwise what is the point?

A follow up on my last post. The car past inspection but only because it wasnt lifted. Muffler are required in VA. The 88 vette is loud on long trips but not bad during short trips. The temps run around 10° cooler but has lost noticable low end and midrange speed/power. When time and money permits I will choose a quality system made for my year. I dont regret what I did because it was the best option for me at the time, however I do not recommend running without a muffler based on power loss. The back pressure is needed.

I had Bullets on my '04 and loved them.
Bought an '06 Convertible. They lasted a week. Cost me $3-400 by the time I pulled them off and went back to stock. In the '11, I have NPP and M2W...love it!

Burning Brakes
HRE rims for my 08 coupe. I changed to Z51 sways, Bilstein Sports, and Z06 springs. Couldn't stop the rubbing. Couldn't decide on new rims because they were pretty stylish, so bought a Z06.

Im not embarrassed
Amen. Most that mod their cars or have them "tuned" are too emarassed to admit to their foolishness, or too numb to recognize they caused their own problems, and at great expense. I especially enjoy people who soup up their engine, blow a connecting rod, and then say "the LS3 has weak connecting rods".

I was one of those fools that went ***** to the wall and shot for 1k HP. What a joke. I had it made with my stock z and STS twins but noooooooooooooooo. I forged n stroked, went Ysi supercharged, tranny/dif upgrades, Meth, P&P heads, ported intake and tuned. Drove it maybe 5 hours and the valve tip broke off. I was a fool....all regrets.
