C6 broke into
OK Some dirt bag just broke into my 07 C6. The interesting part is they got into it without a FOB and now it opens without me having the FOB. Has anyone ever heard of this happening?
UPDATE: OK both of my fobs are set up to lock automatically. I had to disconnect the battery to reset the locking system activating my fobs. the car is functioning normal again.

or, you have your fobs set so that the car doesn't lock when you move away from the car. that, too, is possible.

Sorry to hear that!
When you say "broke into",did they actually break something to get in? Or did they just get in somehow? And are the doors not locking now at all?
I haven't heard of anyone being able to defeat the locks, and kill the locking function. If there was something damaged that did this, I'd sure like to know what they did.

That's pretty scary! It must have been done with some sort of electronic intrusion if there was no damage. If there is a good side I guess it would be the lack of damage.

It is in the personal setups through the DIC. You can set it to auto-lock as well as sound the horn and/or flash the lights when it locks. I have mine set to sound the horn because I lik the audible confirmation that it is locked as I walk away.

Sorry about your car getting "broke into." I'm curious too...what actually was broken? Did ripping the locking mechanism with a slim jim render it inoperable? Was it entered 'electronically' without force?
When I walk away I press the button on the fob and lock the car. It works everytime. As mentioned, you can setup the car to lock automagically but I prefer to lock my car myself. Even though my car is not set to lock automatically, when I'm resetting the tire pressure sensors and the car is in learn mode, if I close the driver's door all the doors lock. Go figure.

The only locking mechanism in the door is the pushbutton and the attached wires. One normally slips the slim jim down between the window glass and the door skin to get to the locking mechanism.
On a C6, the locking mechanism is in the door pillar behind the rear fender. How do you get a slim jim behind the rear fender?
I have heard that it's possible to slip a long hook down between the top of the window glass and the car's roof seal, and snake it down to the floor, to lift the manual door opener that is located on the floorboard. I suspect though, that that is difficult to do due to the glass being trapped in the door seal, unless the door glass is pried away from the seal. If that was done, I would think some visual evidence should remain, such as a damaged rubber seal, or a window glass that won't operate properly.
I'm betting that the OP has one FOB programed to lock the doors, but the other FOB not programed to lock the doors. He happened to use the FOB, the last time he drove the car, that wasn't programed to lock the doors and a peep walked by and tried the door, and it popped open.

My car locks when my fob is not near the car. However, he got into just not sure how. Itappears he spent alot of time on the passenger side door handle ( I have a black car so there was a slight layer of dust so you could tell he spent alot of time there). Now car will not lock I can get into with out the fob. I keep everyone informed.
