Default Poll on C6 reliability relative to type of delivery

Once in a while there are questions as to whether Museum deliverd cars have fewer problems later on. Wanted to do an UN-scientific poll on how reliable your car has been based on one of these categories.

Of course it is subjective as to how you classify few or many problems and, if you bought used, how well you know the service history to be able to accurately answer. Also the age of your car, with older ones assumed to have more issues, will cause this to be mainly just for fun.

EDIT: Guess I was too slow. Was looking for the following:

DEALER delivered and if has NO, A FEW, or MANY Issues

vs.

MUSEUM delivery and if it has NO, A FEW, or MANY issues

Hopefully quality is engineered and manufactured into the car and all it's parts. It is a little late to do anything significant about quality after the car comes off the assembly line.

I personally believe the only difference would be you'll get one heck of a good detail on a museum delivery....

I totally agree. If you've ever been on the factory tour you can see that ALL cars on the line are treated the same way.

We've done 2 Musem Deliveries, and 1 dealer delivery.

The 2 museum deliveries were flawless when we picked up the car, but lots of problems developed over the following years that could not have been prevented by the prep.

The 1 dealer prep had some panels that did not match up as nicely as the museum cars, big problem was dealer removed some dealer-installed trim items and left screws missing, etc. Over the next two years, that car has had even more problems than the 2 museum deliveries, but again, stuff that could not have been predicted in advance.

Default Expensive detail shop!

The museum delivery is an expensive detail shop that might touch up a few minor details (flaws) but won't handle the BIG Flaws. I spent three (3) days with two (2) Corvette Engineers and their common reply is: "Is it a safety issues", their normal response; therefore, then it is a dealer problem (Their "Final Answer"). I assume the same is true for the Museum, why not? Welcome to the dealerships!

I ordered my 2006 coupe from a dealership in the Dallas area. I was a little concerned that the build on the car began on a Friday and was completed on the following Monday. 117,500 miles later the car has been completely flawless with the exception of the roof delam and diff. fluid change....both taken care of under warranty. They had it spiffed up very nicely as I drove it off the showroom floor and into the rain for my return trip to San Marcos, TX.

Tom,
While all cars are assembled the same way by the same great employees at B.G. not all vehicles are treated the same way. Some vehicles are subjected to an AUDiT. Now what would be interesting is to check for later issues after the vehicle was audited, not museum delivery. Although our Vette was a museum delivery and a buyers tour...all great in December of 2007. No issues.

R8C delivery for me in 2007. No issues with the car to date. All I can do is speak from my experience.

I did the buyers tour and dealer delivery. 4 years later, not a single issue other than the squeaking roof latches that the dealer fixed.

Who delivers the vehicle has nothing to do with the build quality. When the car is assembled it is assembled in the same manner as the car in front of it and the car that follows.
