Pioneers newest creation for the Iphone user!
If you've got an iPhone® 4, you know how great apps are — they're fun, handy, and easy to use. Wouldn't it be great if you could transfer that experience to your dash? Thanks to Pioneer's AppRadio, you can.
Control apps from the 6.1" screen
AppRadio works a lot like your iPhone 4. Once you've connected your phone, compatible apps fill AppRadio's screen, giving you convenient touchscreen control. Pioneer's free AppRadio app gives you a sleek app interface, and the apps look great on the bigger screen — best of all, you won't have to fumble around with your iPhone while you're running an app.
More and more apps on the way
AppRadio already works with some of the most popular apps available, such as MotionX GPS Drive, INRIX traffic, Rdio, and PANDORA®. So right out of the box, you can get turn-by-turn directions, traffic updates, and tap into Internet radio. In the future, you can expect many, many more apps to become compatible with AppRadio.
Access your iPhone
AppRadio gives you access to some of your iPhone's key features, such as your calendar, contacts, and your music library. Built-in Bluetooth® lets you talk hands-free.
Important note: AppRadio requires input from your iPhone from time to time — most notably when running the MotionX GPS Drive app. It's a good idea to mount your iPhone where it's easy to reach.
- General features:
- digital media receiver with AM/FM tuner (no built-in CD player)
- touchscreen control over select iPhone 4 apps
- built-in amplifier (14 watts RMS CEA-2006/50 peak x 4 channels)
- built-in Bluetooth for hands-free calling
- 6.1" LCD display
- Audio features:
- 3-band parametric equalizer
- Expandability:
- built-in iPod control (cable included)
- included GPS antenna for boosting signal while using GPS apps
- inputs: rear USB input for iPhone 4 (cable included — not compatible with USB devices)
- outputs: 2-channel preamp outputs (2-volt rear/subwoofer)

Very nice! Does the GPS nav app have voice guidance?

Thats a very clean looking system . Nicer than my x920bt. Guys grab your system from Dennis. One of the most stand up forum vendors around and an all around nice guy. His prices are great and his service is great!

Actually i did some research and found that the iPhone GPS app does indeed have voice guidance from the unit speakers, but the basic installed google map doesnt. A good case of apps adding more functionality.

I would buy this if Pioneer had included an integrated stand alone GPS Nav system in it that didn't require the iPhone. Otherwise this is very tempting and a great deal to boot.

Its one of the inherent problems with Android. Because Android is just the software and not the hardware. The hardware is manufactered by several different companies and none of them have agreed on a single interface. If they could all agree to use a standard interface, mini-USB perhaps.. then AV manufacters could start making more Android friendly consumer devices. Sure you can connect via Bluetooth to play music or use some features, but generally speaking BT doesnt have enough bandwidth to support larger data transfers and BT connections still do not charge your phone.
On topic: I'm definitely picking up one of these iPhone friendly Pioneer radios sooner or later.. and am glad to see Dennis supporting it. Only thing holding me back is reading reviews and deciding to go with the App Radio or a something more featured like the Z130BT. I'm already a huge Pandora fan, but mainly use TomTom for GPS. If Pioneer would announce TomTom app support for this App radio.. it would be a pretty immediate decision for me.

wow this is going to impact my phone purchase in october..
I was going for the HTC thunderbolt, but with this radio the Iphone would be sweet. I love pandora and IheartRadio..
Since i dont have XM but I do have navigation on my 2005, would it be just a straight swap? Easy peasy?

No on stock XM
BUT
you wouldnt need to have any modules as you can streem XM or Sirius via the iPhone
We can make this plug and play like Mark said!
There is one wire I can not connect is all. It is for the proper night time dimming features. You would need to connect this one wire to the car.
05-10 will get a PAC harness with package
2011 cars will get a MEtra harness.
GM changed things around and the only way a PAC harness will work with no issues right now on a 2011 is if you do not have Onstar or do not want to keep the Onstar.
