Put in a Blower. Vortech with the A&A Kit. Although it fits under the stock hood I thought that hood would give the car a more agressive look. I forgot about the vent on the front facia. 2 scoops looked like crap, and consequently I screwed me

The picture and in person sometimes look real different. I have a new appreciation for C6 factory styling!

Stock usually looks better IMO.

The double intake look was hideous. "Overpowered" the look/styling of the Car in a negative way. Stock looks just right.

And here I didn't say anything when I saw that hood for the first time, because I thought:

1. It looked ridiculous
2. It belonged on a 1982 Camaro bondo-job in a trailer park, jacked up in the back, and with **** carpet on the dash board top

...and I didn't want to hurt your feelings.

The original hood is MUCH better. I haven't seen an aftermarket hood yet that improves on the C6's original.

Good choice.

Bill, ask Steve about the C2 he bought a couple of years ago.

Personally, I've never liked that Lingenfelter hood.

Stock looks the best, that other hood makes your car look like there are too many holes in it. Keep it stock.

I have to agree that the hood was a little obnoxiously big for your car. You should consider the violator hood or the SLP.

I did not care for the after market hood. It looked like a monster pimple on the face of the homecoming queen.

I think the stock hood looks a ton better.

You've learned a lesson many Corvette owners never do . . . that few, if any, aftermarket parts "improve" the looks of a Corvette. Sure, you can personalize it and/or make it more distinctive, but while it may look different, it doesn't look better.

Everyone is, of course, entitled to do anything they like to their car - but just be aware that what you see as an "improvement" is causing others to wince and think "Man, he really screwed that nice car up".

the factory hood is perfect.
At least you had the good sense to change it back.

Im always surprised about the designs people come up with.
How many people did it take to say "this looks good," to actually have decided that product should go to market?

Mike, I luv C2s! What could Steve have possibly done to a C2 to make it look bad? Maybe I shouldn't ask that question.....

Funny,

When I saw that hood earlier today I was a bit "confused".

I like the stock hood better and am optimistic you won't have any heat issues.

No Bill, you've got it wrong. Steve didn't do anything to modify it, he bought a perfect C2 or so he thought. According to Steve it was more trouble than it was worth. Old cars can be a pain in the a** sometimes.

I learned a lot, watching other people make choices that didn't work out. It's helped shape my thinking about what I do to my own Vette and the hobby in general. Beside all the camaraderie, it's probably the best thing about this forum.

There are a few hoods that look better than stock, but yours was not one of them
It looks better with the stock one for sure!

My first thought on the custom hood was "Mustang". It may be right for someone, but I agree with the OP that stock is far better.
