Default Added some evilness to the coupe RPI Designs Headlight/Fog light Blackout kit !

First let me say that Josh from RPI Designs is a great forum vendor and awesome to work with! I have ordered plenty of mods from this company and have always received top of the line customer service! With that said I have wanted to tint the front headlights on my coupe for quite sometime. I saw a Monterey Red vett with smoked headlights (Looked Amazing) at the Woodlands Tx car show thrown by Sam Houston Corvette club in 2010. I talked to the owner and he told me the lights were spray painted with a PPG paint and cleared. Ever since then I have wanted to do this to my ride but the cost of having the headlights taken out then separated to have painted was more then I was willing to pay for . Option 2 was to purchase those tint covers you see on ebay but I have heard horror stories about cracking and leaving residue on the headlight itself which was not an option for me I have looked for molded covers all over the internet since 2010 and have found nothing. I believe RPI Designs are the first to come out with a molded headlight cover so I pulled the trigger on these. They came today along with a set of fog light covers I ordered as well. Here's the how to:

Out of the box my first impressions were how well these are made

They came with clear 3M tape. Although you could use clear Velcro for on/off applications

Quick test fit

Very easy to install passenger side finished

Both finished and fog light covers too

With driving lights on

I really think this made my front end look way more aggressive and I am very with the quality and the ease of installation of this product.

Once again RPI comes through with a totally custom product for our cars

If your on the fence about smoking your headlights there is no reason to be now Contact Josh @ RPI Designs and get a set yourself ! Thanks again Josh and looking forward to doing a lot more business with you
A+ Vendor

Is this safe? or legal?
Not sure why one would want to diminish the effectiveness of lights, unless you never drive in the dark.

Let us know how these work out for you over time.. If I remember correctly his add stated that due to the hid lights they needed to be removed anytime the headlights would be on due to heat resulting in headlight cracking.. I'm very interested but don't want to take these covers off everytime I drive at night! Btw it looks awesome!

They should be removable. You can take them off when get to the track.

I figured, but that's why I specified at track. You shouldnt be doing 100mph runs on the street.

As effective, no. Effective, yes.

I had some on my S10 years ago, and those headlights weren't near as bright as a Corvette's. They were still usable at night, but I wouldn't use them in the country going very fast.

looks amazing. i just ordered one after seeing yours for my silver z06.
would you be kind enough to answer my question about this tho?
im not planning on running these at night but do i have to worry about them comming off on freeway driving during the day?
have they damaged the lense under after all these days that you have put them on?
please advise.
Ramtin.

I was waiting for some pictures with the headlights on. I think tinted would look cool but not totally blacked out.
