The GS I strongly considered in 2011 was just under 70k msrp. That same Car in 2012 is now over 73k. Most of the increase was due to the 3LT package changes.

I hear you. The 3LZ ZO6 that I want to get has gone up by about the same amount. It's a bummer that they now force you to get and pay for a Nav system that I don't want and will have to pay even more to replace with a good Kenwood unit. On a side note I absolutely love the new seats and steering wheel. Which will save me money when I don't have to replace those with aftermarket units.

Suggest you folks wait a bit. Once the first spy photo's of the C7 get released dealers will start dumping the C6's. That's what happened between the C5 and C6.
If you really want a C6 that's the time to buy one.

NEVER buy a first production run of a Corvette. It's been how many years for the C6 and there are still Electrical issues? And some of them rolled over from the C5. You can find a year or 2 old Z06's for great deals with no miles.

I'm certain it won't be a 2013,and probably not a 2014 either since we haven't seen a single confirmed spyshot of any mules being tested.

Concerning the 2012's, I thought it was interesting to note that over on the corvetteconti.com/blog site it says something about 2LT's with the Heritage Package are on Constraint. This ought to be interesting as to what happens here. It is my understanding that the 2LT no longer includes the Sports Seats so how can you get a 2 Tone Heritage Package Interior with the Basic Black Seat. If the answer is that the 2 Tone is not available on the 2LT then what about the $1195 price...

On the other hand, the new value I think is the 2lt.

I thought they would only raise the price a couple hundred also, not $3k. I like how they say the base MSRP only goes up a small amount then screw you with the option packages. All of this in an economy that is not moving and after the taxpayer saved their butts. GM is pricing themselves right out. I may not even look at them when I replace my Impala since even a Malibu costs almost $30k.
They must have made a deal with the NAV manufacturer such as they must sell x amount of NAV units to get x price. Since they could only sell around 50% of them (most dealer ordered) they were probably looking for someway to dump them.

I felt the same way when I bought my 08. I was replacing my 05 convertible and decided the 08 convertible was too much money mostly because the $2,000 convertible top was forced upon us if we wanted the 3LT package - so I bought a coupe instead.
No question that GM is trying too hard to build Corvettes that are no longer financially appealing to many folks who would have bought one in the past. I've owned seven Corvettes total. Heck, I've owned four C6's. But I seriously doubt I'll buy another new Corvette.

I read somewhere they are trying to appeal to a different type of buyer (IE Porsche, GT-R). They should concentrate on the buyers that have been faithful to them over the last few decades. P car lovers will buy a P car anyway.

Two months ago at the C5/C6 bash at the National Corvette Museum, Tadge Juechter very clearly and specifically stated that 2012 will not be the final model year for the C6. I was there and my sense was that he was speaking the truth. FWIW.
