I don't remember any present for college graduation, but I did a canoe when I graduated from law school. Of course, my folks funded college, so I'm not complaining at all.

Awesome gift. When I graduated college in 1998, my father bought me a new black Corvette, with every option. Even though I graduated with 3.98 GPA from a good college and was accepted into medical school, I still don't think I deserved it but was truly grateful to my dad. He knew it was the car I dreamed of having since I was 7. I still have the car, at 153,000 miles now, and will never sell it. Thanks Dad.

I also got a Cross pen ...

But times change -- my son graduated high school last week. He did well (>4.0 on a 4.0 scale, honors, yada, yada), and has proven to be remarkably responsible for an 18 yo.

He didn't do that with any promises of getting anything out of us or out of school, other than a better chance of getting into the college of his choice.

So he was a rather surprised (to the point of tears!) and happy puppy when he opened the tiny gift box and found the key to one of our babies (the green one)

Congratulations to your daughter on graduating college ...that is truly something I am sure she is very proud of! In my house it is not a question of if they are going to college.......it is a question of which one.

If I had ten million dollars in the bank and any one of my three kids had graduated from Harvard on a full ride, I still would not purchase them anything close to this (Very nice by the way). I'm going to let them enjoy the pride of working for something and then finally being able to purchase it after some sacrifice. I'm old school I guess

Regards,
Scott
