What did you dream of owning when you were younger?

Mustang Boss 429. I even tried to buy one but they were limited addition so I bought a 1970 C3 454 Coupe. Worst quality I have had in a car but a blast to drive.

Didn't have anything special for cars growing up.
In the 80's and 90's though, I had/bought/sold numerous 67-69 Camaro's.
But always wanted a Corvette and so glad I waited and bought a C6

I lusted for, and still do, a Black & Gold Bandit Trans Am -- before buying my '10 GS I searched around and considered buying one but never found one in as good a shape as I'd want -- and I'm not one to restore...
I was also smitten with the Porsche 928 -- it was just odd enough and rare enough to attract my attention. The 924 was chintzy to me and I only liked the 911 Turbo with a HUGE whale tail spoiler.
I never really lusted or dreamed about owning a Corvette. I liked the late 70s and early 80s models but when the C4 came out I wasn't all that impressed -- I owned a Camaro at the time and thought it was nicer looking.
But here a couple years ago I decided I wanted a sports car and as I got to studying them and mulling it all over I decided for the money that nothing compared to a Corvette. I looked at everything in the same general price range and nothing compares. Porsches are too something that I can't put my finger on -- maybe they aren't "macho" enough. And they are way too expensive for what I felt like I would be getting.
So I'm very happy with my '10 GS -- it has just a little over 14,000 miles on it now so I have been enjoying the heck out of it!

Lamborghini Countach - hands down.
1997 Porsche Carrera Turbo - still love this car.
Lamborghini Diablo Jota
And since I will never grow up my current wish is: Koenigsegg Agera-R.

All I ever wanted was a Corvette. Fell in love when I was eight/nine years old. I consider myself very lucky to have driven some version of my Dream for fourty four years.

Agreed on the Lambro Countach or that White Ferrari from Miami Vice. We all must be about the same age range. Even more odd.. I come from a Vette home. Dad has owned 4, mom has owned 2 since 1973. But Ferrari has pretty much always been my dream car, its where I fell in love with red sports cars and Italian exhaust notes.
Had the opportunity to purchase a used F360 in cash after I sold my home in 2004.. but the maintenance and lack of garage/storage soured the deal for me. In a way I'm glad I didnt. As the F360 looks like a dog now.. compared to newer F430 & F458italia. Not to mention my red Z51 C6 looks better & out performs the F360 in every way. One day I'll probably trade my C6 for a Z06.. but thats atleast 3 years from onw. Who knows.. 10 years from now I might even really live the Ferrari dream around age 45.

Been dreaming of a corvette since I was seven. I loved sitting in my uncle's 63 split window thinking someday I'm gonna own a corvette!. 33 years later for my 40th birthday I bought one. Now after three years of owning it, all I can say is it was well worth the wait. My brother visited from Wisconsin the other weekend and this was the first time he saw it, and his first comment was "as much as you talked about corvettes when we were growing up I knew you'd own one someday".
I think I also hooked my 7 year old too because now whenever my vette is out, he just sits in it and day dreams (doesn't matter if we are cruising or if it's in the driveway)..... I'm hoping he's dreaming he will own one when he's older.
We need to hold onto our dreams.

I was born in 1947 and since 5th grade I always wanted a three window 32 Ford coupe or a 55 two door Chevy. I did own a 55 Chevy but never got my 32 Ford. Maybe some day.

A Corvette - I remember looking at a new '63 Marina Blue Stingray at the local Chevy dealer - had a price tag of $6K, and thinking I would never be able to afford $6K for a car. But I was wrong...

I always wanted a Corvette. When I was about 5 or 6 in the early 70's, I went for a drive in one with my dad and I was hooked. I bought my first one when I was 19 (in 1985).
The only other car I knew about was a 1970 purple Challanger convertible, which a neighbor had! That was also a pretty cool car if you go to the "dark side" (Mopar).

First off, I was born in 1967 and grew up around the Motor City. I've been into cars since birth. Anyway, I dreamed of owning a 67' Corvette in my teens. I thought that was the hottest car, old or new. Then in my later teens I realized the 67' Vette wasn't realistic. So my next passion was a 67' Nova SS. I thought they were SO cool. When I was 21 I did end up buying a pretty sweet 88' TransAm GTA. That was the coolest car I had before my C6.
I never owned or will probably never own either the 67' Vette or Nova SS and I'm fine with that. My new passion is trying to retire early. Plus, I REALLY love my 05'.

For me it was the twin cam, big valve 1972 Lotus Europa Special. I came within a gnats posterior of buying one. I met the seller at the dealership where he worked. He drove it in from home and said he'd changed his mind. He just couldn't sell it. I got to look but never drove it. At 6'1" and 205 I doubt I could get in the thing now but I loved it! I once hesitated on an XKE and it got sold before I decided I wanted it. Two that got away.

Wanted one since I was about 12. Never owned one, although now obviously I have something faster and more expensive.
Still, you have to admit that these cars are timelessly cool. If I came across a clean one for a reasonable price, I'd buy it needlessly.

My dream cars were:
Lamborghini Diablo
Millennium Yellow C5 Corvette Convertible
I ended up in a C6 but I think I would have been just as happy in a C5.
