Yes, I've been anxious to ask you about that very thing. There is a rumor picking up speed like a blown C6 that claims you love rumor threads. Will you acknowledge or deny that rumor, or are you just glad to hear from us all?

Because VIN's will say they ain't and neither will the insurance company.

Wouldn't that be from having a lighter frame?

Just checked the online order and reference system for 2012 Corvette and only engine available for the base and GS versions are the LS3, so the only chance it could happen would be in the 2013 - and I don't think it will happen just someones dream

and aftermarket tuners nightmare, just like it happened with GS replacing widebody conversions

The LS7 has nothing to do with the Z06 not having a targa top. It's the aluminum frame that is the reason. The fact this story is called a rumor creates doubt in my mind that it will happen.

After all the hoopla and details we got at the Bash this April, no way there will be an additional engine available for 2012 GS.

But...
If the C7 gets delayed until MY 2015 or so, then just maybe...

So it looks to me that a GS (let the sun shine in) with most of the Z06 stuff anyway and the steel frame would handle the 427 "and" an automatic would make it a REAL kick a$$/take no prisoners car and a nice daily driver to booth.

EDIT: Hell lets also offer the ZR1 engine!!! and be done with it! but add a little more hp for the extra 100 lbs. or so, an auto if wanted and Waaa-laaa the everything in one perfect car.

Z06 engine= Grand Sport S (Super)
ZR1 engine= Grand Sport S+ or SC (Super-Charged)

Now these "Bad Boys" would sell like hot cakes!!!

Hello GM----Hello GM!!! Hello Mcfly
You need to put a strong magnet in your pocket and stand next to a C6.R GT2 factory race Corvette. You won't feel attracted to it, as it has the Z06/ZR1 aluminum space frame.

I'd be in for a new C6 Grand Sport if I could own a factory built 427 convertible!
