I can tell you this....I have a 2007 C6Z....I plan on getting a SS Camaro as soon as I finish paying off my SSR this year....I have driven a SS Camaro and LOVE IT....Having said that, there is NO way I'd get rid of my C6Z to get a new Camaro....A year from now this picture will include a black SS Camaro ...The N-plate???....Im thinking about NTENSE

I've rented the Camaro SS on a couple of occasions and I wasn't fond of the blind spot from hell and it's extra weight but as previously mentioned we're comparing two different viewed upon cars.
At the end of the day it's your call and we're just chiming in with our opinions. I feel that a used Z06 would be the way to go.

The Camaro and the Corvette aren't comparable, IMHO. They are two, totally different vehicles. One is mass-produced, one is not. They're not even priced similarly.
Test drive them both and see/experience what I am talking about. Purchase the one that fits what "you" want (not what we want). Ulitmately, you will be living with the car and driving it daily. So you have to decide which vehicle fits your specifications, preferences, needs/wants, desires. My 2-cents.......

New SS Camaro or used Z06?? - I need help deciding... I sold my C5 Torch Red convertible about 2 months ago; beautiful car, but I got tired of the Subarus leaving me at stoplights. . . . . I like to do shows, upgrades/mods, forum fixes (thank you!), and I'd like to get into drag race and track race eventually. So far, my conclusion is that Z06 will hold value better, but I can choose exactly which Camaro I want and it will be brand new.
Help me out - what are your opinions? Any regrets either way?

The Corvette is America's Sports Car. There is no rationale to judging America's Sports Car against a muscle car on the basis and only the basis of 1/4 mile of pavement. That only shows how quick the vehicle is, not how fast it is. There are a lot of cars that will beat a Vette in the 1/4 on a Friday nite that are not anywhere near the class of the Vette.
Buy the Camaro to play on the short track with the fast-n-furious boyz with their "naws" ricers, and old wrench heads in Novas and early-model Dodges.
If you want a car for the track, then you want the Corvette, not that overweight pig, big-mouth bass-looking abomination called a Camaro with the aerodynamic coefficient of a Dodge Durango.

So, I was planning to buy a used Z06. I haven't found one yet - prices seem to be at a peak for the season and there aren't many around Colorado. Started thinking, I can get into a brand new Camaro 2SS with all the trimmings for about $40, less than the $44 I want to pay for the Z.

I came from an LS1 Camaro, and I was really hoping that a new Camaro SS would be my new car, but when I sat in the driver's seat of the new Camaro, it was the most disappointing feeling of my life. I felt like I was in some WWI tank.

If you're drag racin' from stoplight to stoplight - your question and poll are moot. You are a musclecar man, and the Corvette is not for you.
