Default Finally - Dawn / Claybar / Zaino (pics - before and after)

I finally got the time and the weather cooperated so I was able to pay some attention to my baby.

I'm ashamed to admit it, but I haven't really given it this kind of attention since I first got her (October 2007).

I washed the car with Dawn, claybar'd it with Zaino claybar, then gave it 1 coat of Zaino. I mixed half Z2 and half Z5. I don't really know why, to be honest. Should I use the Z2 at all? That is just for light colored cars, right?

Well, anyway, here are a couple of before...

And after...

I am happy with the initial results and I am looking forward to putting more coats on.

I snuck out a little while ago and used the Z6 on it. No pics, though - sorry.

Nice! Feels good when you can finally get it done.

BTW, Z2 should always be used as the final or top coat (besides the Z6 or Z8) because it has the UV protection and is optically clear.

Beautiful car, and beautiful color, was my first choice, Monteray Red, right? Honestly the before pics don't look so bad, but the after photos are sparkling. Nice job. I just spend a few hours shinin' up mine today. I'm sore, but happy.

z5 had uv protection and the optical clarity is so close to z2 , for the naked eye to tell the diff is impossible its actually better for darker cars, its thicker and fills swirls better .

Thanks, all.

TomZ - right after I posted them, I had the same thought that the before didn't look all that bad. I think she just photographs well, because believe me, there is a big difference in reality.

Thanks, wolfdogs - I used Z2 and Z5 with ZFX. Are you saying I can just go Z5 w/ZFX in the future? If so, anybody with lighter color Vette want to work out a swap of Z2 for Z5?

Default Damn Birds!

Wouldn't you know it? Day after Zaino and the birds found the car!

Not totally surprising, though - most of it ran right down the hood!!!

I used a quick spray of Z6 and a 100% cotton towel and it's all gone!

I LOVE this stuff!

No apologies necessary. I kind of thought the same from the pics. But, I can tell you I can definitely see the difference in person. Not to mention - the feel. Slick and smooth. Looking forward to more coats.

I was amazed at how many little nicks I found. I have to get some touch up paint.
