Fiberglass smell
When I fire up my 2009, I get a smell out of the vents that smells like fiberglass. (pretty strong). It is more prevalent when the A/C is on. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This is normal IMO and can last a while.....compare it to the "new car smell"....still love that smell on my 08..............

My '06 coupe still has that smell when it is parked out in direct sun light on a hot day. My car is primarily driven in the evening and at night and seldom sees the heat of the day. I have to admit I like that smell though.

I had an 07 that had more of a new car smell. This just seems to be very strong. The 09 is parked in the garage all the time so I don't believe that it is a heat issue. But thanks for all the input. I will just drive it and wait and see.

You might try running with the compressor off for the last few minutes of your drive, it could be the issue of musty smell. I had that problem with my 07 and running the ac with the compressor off is not too comfortable in the heat but it did solve the problem. All it it takes is the last 5 minutes of your ride.

That smell is the styrene in the polyester resin system. It can be caused by some parts that may be slightly undercurred during molding.
Most of the fiberglass parts are molded in matched metal molds and then heated to about 300 degress F. during molding.
I had a 2000 Corvette where the roof panels had a styrene smell on a warm day.
