Default NCM Wounded Warrior Airlift 2011 Fun!!!

I just got back late last night in time to work later today, all I gotta say is THANK YOU!!!!! I am so proud to part of such a class act group of people, we got the opportunity to share our passion with those soldiers and for a day, at least my soldier, Staff Sargeant Arroyo, was completely stress free and happy.. The man's eyes were welled up with tears, I never thought what we did would have such a strong impact on someone else's life... Thank You once again for allowing me the opportunity to give back!!!

Btw: I can't say enough about the Kentucky State Troopers, they led the pack that I was in to Fort Knox and we made some amazing time... I was the 2nd car in the pack and got up to 130ish for a long time, that was really exciting, appreciate it gentleman, I was able to reach 10,000 miles on my baby a lot quicker, check it out!!!

Here is a link to the rest of the pictures I took out there, I didn't wanna bombard this thread with photos because there's a lot!!

It great that you were able to get rid of any carbon in your engine. You may not want to put it out there though. It may not happen again when the trooper gets reprimanded.
Sounds like a blast. Glad the soldiers enjoyed it.

Ha, we talked about that... The trooper said quote "I was looking for a job when I found this one", That's what I said right before I learned how to work for myself and make real money!! He was a skipper, only one man above him and the man above him was a wounded warrior that just got redeployed.. Sorry you couldn't be there to experience it.

What a great day it was. The warrior that rode with me was overwhelmed with the number of Vettes that showed up and from so many states. He was also thoroughly impressed with the plan tour and the NCM. What a wonderful event it was and hope they can do it again.

And thanks for sharing all those photos.

Thank You guys... The NCM and the assembly plant was extremely welcoming to us and went over the top to accommodate both the drivers and the warriors equally. I hope they do it again and make it a regular event and over time it will grow out of control to the point were I-65 will be closed just for us!!

Default NCM Wounded Warrior Airlift 2011 Fun!!! American Warrior Recognition

Those of us at Ft. Campbell can echo your sentiments. Great day for all! Soon as we hit Hwy 68 our troopers let it out!! We hit 100+ up and back. Normally when traveling 68 near Auburn, KY we look for the Auburn police because they are looking for us always-this time they were blocking intersections along with the KY state troopers! What a hoot chasing bluelights instead of seeing them chasing you. Our warriors were impressed as we all were. It was also very heartfelt for those of us veterans driving these Soldiers especially to those of us of the Vietnam era. Several places along the route we saw people from 1- Many waving and waving flags. One elementary school had kids and teachers standing out in front. We made one turn and at the intersection stood a retired Sergeant Major at the position of attention holding his salute to all 50+ cars as they drove by. The retired Soldier in me swelled with pride, respect and rendered a salute in return out of respect and protocol! Wasn't expecting to see all these folks on the road like that....and when pulling into the Corvette Museum all the staff out front applauding as we drove in; at the assembly plant so many showed their appreciation from the work force...stepping outside of the production line to come over, shake hands and say thank you! What a day to remember....it's still a great country! Thanks to all who made this happen and participated.

I'm posting pics at our club site as I get them. www.corvettesofclarksville.com
I'm told one of our members has 200 photos on the forum but as of the moment I don't know the link. Will post it once I get it.

Default NCM Wounded Warrior Airlift 2011 Fun!!

Ok, Dash, here's a link to about 200 pictures of what we (Ft. Campbell) experienced:http://www.eow1.com/Wounded_Warrior.php.
These were taken by one of our Corvettes of Clarksville Club members, Albert Goulet who posted them on his business site. Albert owns a 2010 Black ZR1. Lots of good pics. I'll also be posting some of these on our club website so Big Wave Salute to Albert for taking all these great pictures and sharing them. I believe the excitement of this event will be with a lot of us for a long time to come! I know a lot of us have thanked the Museum, the staff, the Plant and sponsors for making this possible but we all need to ensure April Kaufmann of New Jersey gets big Kudos for the idea and continuing prodding of the Museum to do this. Next one is in November but am told by Roc Linkov they will use buses to transport the Warriors.
