What a great problem to have. I had the same one 60 days ago. Really wanted Victory Red. Then I found this 07', Black, and 8,000 miles. Here is what I can tell you. With the right tools Black is easy to maintain. The beginning started out with about 4 to 5 hours (clay bar, Adams machine polish, and then Adams machine wax). Wow did it look good.
Now it is no problem to maintain, all I do is a quick Califonia duster, then touch up with Adams spray. Takes me 15 minutes to make it look like show. And you have to try Adams spray whether you do black or red, it is amazing. We want to see pics when you bring it home

Man, that is a smokin' vehicle. Way to go. Love the wheels.

All Corvettes are either red of white, all other colors are protective coatings. I practice what I preach, 2006 - Victory Red, 1995 - White.

I had a red truck 4X4, it was broken into like there was no tomorrow! Red is a magnet and very flashy, get's tons of attention! I just bought a black Grand Sport, it is hell to keep clean however, I love it anyway.....I just keep it covered in the garage when not driving, but it's a beauty most of the time. There's nothing like a black shiny car.

I feel your Pain
January was the time for me. Red was my first choice, with Black a very close second, and Silver a distant third. These were the only three colors I would consider. If a Black one came along, that had everything I wanted, I would not hesitate to get it. That's exactly what I did. Black 08, Coupe, Z51, MZ6, NPP (non Nav). It is a little work to keep clean, and shows dust/dirt easily. But, as others have said, a few swipes with a duster, and quick spray detailer, and it looks great. I Love my car!
I have since changed my mind about what color I would consider, if I ever get the chance again. I LIKE THEM ALL!!!!!!!
Good luck with your decision, You will love it no matter the color.

Sammy Hagar - Red Lyrics
I've read it all, It's Black and White
the spectrum made a shade I like
the crimson rays are ruby bright
Technicolor bright
RED
I want Red, there's no substitute for Red
RED
Paint it Red, Green aint mean compared to Red
You dont know what it does to me, My crimson sane intensity
I'm haunted by the mystery, the mystery of Red
RED
knocks 'em dead
Some like it hot, I like it Red

Melting Slicks
My all black, 3LT A6 must be a garage queen because I spend more time drooling over it than driving it. The paint was in such disarray when I bought the car (because it sat on the dealer's lot for 10 months) I had to do a full paint restore on it. Once I got it to my standards it has been real easy to keep up. Perhaps the best tip I can give you, for proper detail upkeep, is not to drive in the rain as the road grime will wreak havoc on your detail job. The quick details (w/ MeGuiar's Showtime) are fun to do now. Just rinse the car, towel dry and then Showtime........LIFE IS GOOD (and BLACK)!
