Default My new hi-tech vented hood (pics incl)

I bought this carbon fiber hood from Southern car parts there service is top notch but the hi tech hood quality could be better. (I will post the ugly pics later) I had the hood installed by a custom shop for $200 they did a great job. I am going to paint some of the carbon fiber black at some point I just wanted to share my favorite hood. Enjoy... Name: 05-09-11053.jpg

Looks like it fits pretty well.

IMO you should leave the center bulge in CF and paint the sides of the hood black.

Cool red stripes on the fenders, by the way.

The carbon fiber hood from Southern Car Parts weighs 19.84 lbs, and the FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) weighs 24.25 lbs. .
How much does the stock hood weigh?

That's the hood I want. I was worried about the fitment though. Is it good? Also I like what you've done with the red mesh. I may do that also.

I love the hood. Definitely paint it but leave a little carbon showing. I like the red grilles, pretty cool. Just my opinion but those wheels don't do your car justice. Maybe a black Z06 wheel with red rim pinstripe, or?

Yes the vents are functional, especially if you remove the rain trays.
And yes the headlights are smoked (sort of ) they are tinted with the same tint as the glass.

Yes I also like the batman (wink wink ) and this hood is my favorite, but the fitment is speculative and be ready to spend an extra 1500 in fit and finish.

Interesting comment about fitment. The hood looks like it fits on the car perfectly. Care to expand on your comment about the fit and finish of the hood?. I have ordered the non carbon fiber version of this hood (Ecklers had a fabulous deal on it) and am curious as to what "fit and finish" problems that the hood has.
