Default Need suggestions about F55 Corvette Shock Absorber Simulators

Hi

I want to change all Shock Absorbers but I want to know what are the better options because my car has F55 Magnetic Selective Ride Control Suspension and I thinking to change them and install Shock Absorber Simulators.

What do you think about it?

Thanks.

If you do take off the F55 shocks, be sure to offer them for sale, because some people may start having their's fail in another 100,000 miles or more, maybe sometime in the next 10+ years.

C6 corvette performance $175.55 a set -

If you google it there are several other places that sell them as well.

I've never used them. I'm interested to hear if anyone has used them too.

There is perfect example of the vette tax!! I'll bet there isn't 10 bucks worth of electronic parts in those things! Granted you had to know how to make the thing and it can't be a big seller.. but geezz that's expensive!! All it's doing is fooling the ECM into thinking they are still on the car.... nothing more really. I'd really like to hear how they work because they would have ZERO effect on the car handling if the mag shocks aren't there.. right? The only thing the ECM does is receive info from the sensors to adjust them so can't see that anything else is harmed in anyway....

I am in the same dilemma - replacing the MRC shocks. Does anybody have shock simulator experience?

I just had two of my F55 shocks fail and a local performance shop put in a set of 4 Z51 shocks instead, and was able to tune out the magnetic ride. Not sure exactly how they did it (I thought he mentioned perhaps with a Tech 2 unit?), but it did not cost me extra so it wasn't too difficult for them to do. I've put a couple of hundred miles on the car since the fix and have not thrown any codes.

I have the F55 suspension and did a little research when I was thinking of doing coil overs. I have been told that you can disable them with a TechII. I also bough a set of simulators from Zip Corvettes but haven't used them. I wanted to have them on hand in case I decided to try the coil overs or if the F55 suspension ever went out.

I know there are a few members that have done this and they worked fine.
