Default thinking about pulling the thigger on a GS. got a few questions....

...think im going to wait on the 2012 model. any changes for 2012 on the horizon? i don't have anything against the 2011 it's just that it's so close to the model change and i plan on ordering it. i got a 2008 JSB and what to keep that color. it has the titanium seats but was thinking cashmere with white finder strips but im worried the may not look right. anybody have JSB white cashmere? picture would be cool.
next on the option list the heritage package, does that include the two tone leather? if so, does that also include the stitching? it's more than just hash marks right?
they come standard with the track suspension right? i have the Z51 on mine now. is the standard suspension the same? i see they only offer the F55.
next on chevy's web site they list a tire option. whats the deal with that?

basically any info on the GS, i'll take. thanks guys. i gotta run but will check back later.

from what I understand, no JetStream Blue for 2012.

They have a new blue color called Carlisle Blue.

so if you want JSB again, you need to find a 2011.

I have seen a lot of Corvettes, but none in the combo you mention.

Here is one currently available (JSB w/ 2 tone ebony/titanium) - and with white stripes. I have more info for those interested...

As mentioned, JSB was dropped in April. No more for 2011 or 2012

Your going to have to rethink your color combo, no Jetstream Blue for 2012.

Heritage pkg is just decals and headrest logo.

You can order 2-tone seats as an option with any 3lt interior to get a full two tone interior, unless you order ebony.

4lt will give you everything in two tone including seats, door panels, dash etc. except in ebony.

Magnetic ride suspension is available in auto or M6 Transmission.

You can order just 2 tone seats alone. Heritage pkg is cool to. If you want a coupe, you get dry sump oil system, and a hand built mill, if you get the M6. Just a few things for ya.Happy shopping.

The 2012 has new steering wheel and seats. GS's suspension is about the same as your Z51, but of course has the larger Z06 brakes and wheels/tires. The GS LS3 engine has a wet sump except for the manual transmission coupe, which has the dry sump. No difference in HP, just costs more for an oil change.

Base GS has Goodyear super car GENI tires, but the manual transmission coupes with F55 have the GENII Goodyear tires. Either tire, you won't be happy with the Goodyears, and will most likely put on Bridgestones or Michelins in short order.

Like others have said, JSB is out for 2012.

I hope you are not trying to act like the wet sump is the better option? Just because the dry sump does not increase HP, does not mean it is not worth it

I'm saying the wet sump vs the dry sump is basically the same, performance wise in the GS. Sure, with the dry sump you get a forged crank, vs the cast crank in the wet sump engine. Unless you are planning on really raising the horsepower, the forged crank means nothing. Same with the dry sump itself. Storing the oil higher up in the engine compartment vs lower down in the oil pan, adds nothing to the cars performance. For what the GS was designed to do, the dry sump is a marketing tool.

All I'm saying is, with the dry sump, you get a more expensive oil change. I guess that can be considered an improvement in performance, as your wallet will be lighter.

BTW, I have a dry sump Z06. I'm not a dry sump hater. Just saying that in 99% of the GS's, it adds nothing to the performance envelope.

Unless they changed the Heritage option package for 2012, it includes two tone seats. However, the Heritage package means you are paying over $500 for the stripes and GS logo vs going with the two tone seat option.

I stand corrected

But it is a pretty pricey option for GS logo and Decals.

In the Z cars the dry sump system allows the motor to sit lower within the frame to create a somewhat lower center of gravity thereby causing improve handling
