If you drive reasonalbly and stick to 55-70 mph...it's absolutely possible. I got 29.3 with 2600 miles to Florida & back...and that included city and open highway drive plus about a half hour idling in a bad rain storm. All the time with the air on and that was in an A6. My best stretch was 31.3 between Tampa & Gainsville.

My bet is that it is right, or at least pretty dern close. I drove from Pagosa Springs, CO to Moab, UT a couple weeks ago and I got a little over 30mpg. And that tank had a few miles of just cruising around town on it. I figured mine with a good ole calculator. There are several hills, curves, and small towns on that trip, at least until you get out of Delores.
Mine's an A6
Amazing isn't it? That much horsepower and that gooda mpg As long as you keep your foot out of it
I once drove from Durango, CO to Silverton, Ouray, Montrose on the Million Dollar Highway, and then to Gunnison, Crested Butte, back to Gunnison, Lake City, Creede, South Fork, to Pagosa Springs and got over 27mpg. And anybody that has ever driven that route knows how many fun curves and hills there are on that jouney.
The Million Dollar Highway/US550 is a BLAST in a Vette.
Enjoy the car!

On one trip last summer, my DIC showed 32.1 - confirmed (within a few 10ths) by mpg calculation after the fill-up.
And then I promised myself to never drive that way again!

I've gotten 31 in my '05 MN6 (3.42) vert over a 6 hr trip in the midwest. Measured, not DIC.

LS3 gets worse fuel economy due to the fact it is larger in displacement and more addictive in the gas pedal department. I have seen my fuel gauge needle drop as I was watching it. 200 mile with half mountain and half freeway gave me about 25.

I often average over 30mpg in my '06 A6 and the mileage reported by the DIC is typically low by about 3/4 mpg.
