Best year auto trans shifting
Which model year has the best (fastest, crispest) shifting with paddle (button) shifters? I understand they were improved somewhat in certain years.

If you're talking stock A6, the best is probably the newest.
'08 was the first big improvement and they have continued to refine the tranny and offer more options in changing from auto to paddles and back to auto.
A tuned A6 is a different topic as your warranty is likely, done.

Ok I'll bite: C7 2014.
More seriously as noted above the big improvement came in 2008. However from the various Corvette Corral presentations at ALMS races it appears that changes are ongoing with slight improvments over time....
Can it be improved further--oh yeah. I recently drove an Audi S5. When in normal mode it's paddle shift felt just like the Vette A6...but when switched to dynamic mode..WOW..firm crisp upshifts. So....if Audi can do it...why can't GM?????
For the record..I've owned 3 Z06's (2 C5 and 1 C6). Due to an arm and ankle injury that has turned chronic (aka taking a bloody long time to heal properly) I'm following docs advice and taking it easy for a year or so and driving an 11' GS with an A6. Is it like a stick with the paddles..heck no but still highly driveable in a "sporty way"......it is just different-takes a bit to get used to it. For once I do not totally bitch like mad when stuck in traffic....
