Default buying a new FOB #1

i have lost my FOB #1 (2008 Z06) and looking to buy a new one. i found different types of FOB #1 , which has confused me.
can anyone tell me the difference between the following:

1. Transmitter, corvette, w/o remote entry lock, fob #1 year: 2008

2. Transmitter, corvette, w/remote entry lock, specific frequency, fob #1 year: 2001

3. Transmitter, corvette, w/remote entry lock, low frequency, fob #1 year: 2008

i am confused which one to buy.

The only differance between a #1 and #2 is number on the back of the case.

2005 - 2007 early style
I got mine from www.GMPartsDirect.com for $52.02 + ship & handling ($64.97).
#1 GM PART # 10372541
#2 GM PART # 10372542

2008 - 2010 later style
Blank Key GM PART # 25995382
#1 GM PART # 25926479
#2 GM PART # 25926480

You can use either the early C6 or later C6 style of fob with your 2008. Electronically they are all the same.

You can find comprehensive instructions on how to program them here:

There is a slot in the left hand side of the glove box.

Insert your fob there with the buttons facing the passenger side.

Even with a dead fob battery, you can still start the car this way.

The other reason for using the slot is it has its own antenna and if you are in an area with high RF interference and your fob isn't working, it gives you the best chance of getting the fob to be recognized, so you can start the car.

The number stamped on the case is just so you can tell them apart, otherwise they're identical.

I don't have a clue why the description is like that, but that is what you need.

I assume you still have your #2 FOB. Your FOB's have a p/n (part number) on the back, you can search on that p/n. You will find the p/n on the FOB is superseded by a new p/n.

This is important! All C6 fobs, regardless of year, are electrically identical. They will all fit in the glovebox slot and can all be programmed to the car as #1,2,3 or 4. The number stamped on them is only to indicate how they were programmed at the factory...YOU can re-program them in any order that you want. So if you find a good deal on a different number than you need, don't worry about it. Again, all C6 fobs are interchangeable as far as the way they actually work.

This was addressed in a March thread. Gene Culley said all those other FOB's are for export. His response:

All of the different frequencies are actually export or foreign FOB's. The one you guys need to order is the ones without the remote lock entry
