343 stock RWHP is very low even for A6. Sounds like a very nice car but I wouldn't buy one thats been that modded unless I knew the installer and EXACTLY how the car was used.

The mods kill the resale value.

I do know this person, he has a 3000hp drag car and he is insane when it comes to perfection. his shop is 60x40 with every tool, lifts, etc. The car is in his garage with a car cover on it and he has all the factory parts he removed in boxes. The car was run and tuned on the same dyno they use for his drag car. I have heard this car and it has a real good cam rumble at idle. He bought it for his wife but she never drives it, he is a mustang man and wants to build an old school BBF mustang. I built my C4 and put nitrous on the car because I wanted to beat his C6 but that was not going to work so I am buying a C6 to beat his but now he want to sell his car to me.

Sounds like a plan to me.... If you know the car - if you know the deal - if you want it - do it!

Hey if you are buying from a friend I think that's a good deal for the car. Enjoy. I personally like modded cars just worried how bad it was beat on before I got it. Personally I don't think mod's kill resale. They just don't add anythign to the car. If they really kill the value so much when it the last time someone saw a supercharged C6 cheaper than a similar car???

I have to disagree with you on the last part. I looked at a couple of supercharged cars before I bought mine - not only did I shy away, but I think they're all still on here for sale. They all were in perfect shape, but in my mind, nobody drops big money supercharging (or heavily mods) a car just to putt down to the Sonic. And they were all priced lower than a similar stock or near-stock car...or got there fairly quickly.

Nope. Not worth that BECAUSE of the mods. What about the powertrain warranty?

In addition the long tube headers are a Federal EPA violation in every state due to the cat's being relocated. Make sure Texas will overlook them and registration and smog check are not a problem.

As far as OP, likely the warranty is out the window.

Sounds like it has Z51 package.

How so? I'm sure that it could be a problem by loosing a friendship if there was dishonesty involved but that's it. No loss anyway then as far as the friendship.
The good side is you just might really know how the car was cared for. Buying from a stranger, your more apt to get bamboozled.

They dont' care about headers there just like they dont care in AL. Thank God I don't have to deal with all the CA BS.

Actually it's a Federal law. California is not the EPA.

I believe the warranty is out the window. And I could be wrong (I have been before. ) but long tube headers are for off-road use. There are none that have a C.A.R.B. approval plate on them. While it might still pass an emissions test with them, they still aren't legal.

Regards.
