Buying 2009 Vet Warranty Question
If you were buying a used 2009 Vet with 2900 miles. How would you check to see if the warranty was still valid and the original tune still in place?
Thanks,

Get a GM VIS report on the car. It will give a complete history of GM service as well as the warranty status. As for the tune, the ECM would have to be checked, probably by a dealer, for any mods. There are few members here who can run a VIS for you, or you can contact Gene Culley @ gmpartshouse.com. Gene is a super guy and will be glad to help, free of charge.
Good luck!

Chevrolet Customer Service will be able to check on warranty. As for the original engine program, I would think a Chevrolet Dealer can check the current program.

I really don't want to open this can of worms but your local dealer won't be able to tell if the tune has been returned to OEM if it once had a performance tune. If something happened to your car and the ECU was sent to GM they could possibly find out that the car has been tuned. The 5/100k warranty is good. Don't know when your bumper to bumper will be up.
