Default Air Cleaner

I want to change the element in my 08. They are always changing fasteners and connectors. How do I get this thing off without breaking something.

Thanks

Page 5-26 of owners manual
How to Inspect the Engine Air
Cleaner/Filters
To inspect the air cleaner/filters, remove the filters from
the vehicle and lightly shake the filters to release
loose dust and dirt. If the filters remain caked with dirt,
new filters are required.
To inspect or replace the engine air cleaner/filters, do
the following:
1. Remove the screws holding the filter element in
place.
2. Pull on latches found on either side of the filter.
3. Inspect or replace the filter. See Maintenance
Replacement Parts on page 6-13.
4. Reverse Steps 1 and 2 to replace the air
cleaner/filter cover.
{CAUTION:
Operating the engine with the air cleaner/filter
off can cause you or others to be burned. The
air cleaner not only cleans the air; it helps to
stop flames if the engine backfires. If it is not
there and the engine backfires, you could be
burned. Do not drive with it off, and be careful
working on the engine with the air cleaner/
filter off.
Notice: If the air cleaner/filter is off, a backfire can
cause a damaging engine fire. And, dirt can
easily get into your engine, which will damage it.
Always have the air cleaner/filter in place when you
are driving.

I think that's the procedure for the LS2, but the LS3 is different. One big filter that costs about twice as much and is slightly complicated to remove.

I believe that my excerpt is from the 2008 owner's manual.

And get your wallet ready as the air cleaner element is very expensive...for an air filter.

Anybody can read the manual. The manual tells me nothing that I didn't know. What I want to know is how do you remove the air cleaner? What do you have to do to disconnect the electrical connector? I have never seen a connector that looks like that.

It looks like the procedure for our 2006 instead of our 2009, but it's vague enough to kinda work for almost any car.

For our LS3, the easiest seems to be remove the push pins and anchors alongside the filter houseing, loosen the big clamp, and rotate the whole assembly 90' to the left.

Hey, my description doesn't sound very precise, either.
