Default Won't turn off!!

I have a 2005 C6 auto coupe after an afternoon cruise I put her back in the garage after several hours I returned and noticed the map lights & push start button where still on, tried just about everything to get them off but won't dim off, so I pulled the bulbs out of the map light but the start light is still on, anyboby have this problem & how do I get them to turn off. I know i'm going to have a dead battery by the morning. Tommy

Press and release the dash dimmer switch at your left knee.

That problem gets posted here about every week or two. I'd guess it's happened to about 75% to 90% of us at one time or another. It's real easy to do and not realize it when you're detailing your car.

Real men don't read manuals or ask directions.

It has happened to me before but after a quick search of this forum I found the solution but I know sometimes starting a thread is quicker. This forum is a great resource.

I was detailing my car this AM and I had this problem. I thought I'd have to take it to the dealer to get it solved. The Forum saved me $$$.

GM needs to redesign that switch. Its in a terrible location and is way to easy to cause you to have a dead battery and end up stranded.

This is why I was hoping they have re-designed the dimmer switch for 2012...

I agree because I just did it last week and didn't notice until I tried to start the car and just got the clicking noise - live and learn.
