What are the best Coilovers.. LG or Pfadt for C6?
looking to upgrade and get rid of the stock shocks/leafsprings and go with coilovers. I was recommended the LG adjustable coilovers by two different vendors instead of the PFADT.
Are the LG motorsports coilovers the best or are the PFADT coilovers better.
any input from members with both would be great

I can't compare. I have only used Pfadt - but I do like them very much. I don't think you can really go wrong with either. Both Lou and Aaron are quality engineers and good race car drivers.

I talked to Luke @ Tire Rack today about the same thing...
He told me whatever you do, pick a coil over system that reinforces the shock strut area. Vettes were not built to support it's own weight in that manner. Made perfect sense to me.

I have Pfadt and think they're great, but as others have said, I don't have anything to compare their performance to since they are the first coilovers I've used.
I've also seen Penske coilovers at the track. They use a reservoir adjustment system which seems more advanced.

when i saw the testing they do and how they pretty much destroy a z06 to show customers about there coilover quality it amazed me that a company would go that far to prove a point.

Both Pfadt and LG Motorsports have excellent reputations. I went with the LGM coil-over's solely for performance on the track. LGM uses Hypercoil springs which IMO is a big plus. The LGM coil-over's are well mated with the T1 anti-sway bars. They are also non-adjustable (excepting for height adjustment) which is fine for me. The LGM coil-over's seem to be well suited for the various tracks I run on. My car handles quite well.
I think the adjustable coil-over's might be good for guys wanting a true, 4-corner, independent suspension primarily for street use with occasional track use. That said even Corvette guys I know with adjustable coil-over's seem to leave them on one setting...they don't mess with the adjustment much if at all. Both Pfadt and LGM have excellent products but for what I wanted the LGM coil-over's fit the bill.

The question is too general. What exactly are you trying to do? What is inadequate about the stock suspension to you? Where do you use your car? Do you even need coilovers?

Nobody 'needs' coilovers, nobody needs to do motor or appearance mods, in fact nobody even 'needs' a corvette. Grow up and stop the mentality that only racers are allowed to upgrade their suspension.
There are probably only a handful of people on this forum who have literally reached the limits of the stock suspension and cant go faster without upgrading the stock bits. But its ridiculous to suggest that those are the only people that should modify their car if they want.

- removing GM leaf springs
- removing OEM shocks & hardware
- installing Pfadt adjustable coilovers w/ poly bushings
- lowering ride height via coilover setting
- upgrading to Pfadt adjustable sway bars w/ poly bushings
- installing Pfadt end links kit
- removing the heavy OEM wheels/rotors/runflats
- upgrading to performance wheels/rotors/tires
- road tested wheel alignment
- 4 point balance
Major improvement in handling. What's great is the "adjustable" capability. Set it for the track, then back to street. Just a couple turns of the screwdriver

While his question is a bit vague since he does not state his interests, your post is insulting because you suggest he does not 'need' coilovers.

Sir, you can buy these http://www.lgmotorsports.com/catalog...oducts_id=2071 and when you want to go coilover, just buy the rest of the hardware. That way if you are unhappy with coilovers for what ever reason then you can go back to shocks and leaf springs with little money lost.

Anyone using the new PFADT ultralight coilovers yet?
