At 14s he turned the wheel to the right while the rear was still straight. I don't think that guy had the slightest clue what he was doing.

It could have been worse. Maybe he should have practiced burnouts before trying a run!!

I think that hurt his pride more than the car.

The guy probably hurt his ego worse than the car. Considering some guys barely even drive their high performance Corvette I give the guy credit for trying to run his car at the drag strip. I'm sorry it didn't go well. I hope that doesn't end his drag racing career. I'm no drag racer but I think its safe to say, once you miss the burnout and go past the water box don't try again and don't point the car to the side.

That's not to say he won't try filing a claim anyway. Of course, now that the video has gone wide that could come back to bite him.

It also looks like he was using a line lock. He has the front wheels turned and the lock on when he started the burnout. I think when he started to get sideways he released the lock and that immediately put him in the center median.

You play, you pay. If you don't know what you are doing, stay away from the track, except to watch.

Very true but at least, in this case anyway, he wasn't putting other people at risk by showing off on the street.

About 10 or 12 years ago I was at a town parade. A local car club had a number of cars in the parade and they had apparently gotten approval to do limited, 3 to 4 foot, burnouts in the parade. They had spotters at all four corners and waited for the car in front to get maybe a half block lead before doing it. I was watching on the sidewalk thinking they are SO STUPID! There was only maybe six feet of clearance on both sides of the street crowded with people watching the parade. Fortunately no mishap's occurred but things can get out of had so quickly and this could have been on the six o'clock news...

I'm all for having fun with high performance cars but not if you're putting others at risk.

I thought you're suppose to go around the water if you have street tires..
