Is the Grand Sport Gwady?
I'm just a lowly Machine Silver 05 vette owner but I gotta tell you there is something about the Grand Sport I just can't stand. I'm guessing the rims. They remind me of something from the movie X-Caliber or something. The fender markings are just absurd. I just can't stand the look of that car. I know there is not much different about it but it just looks cheesy and gold chain to me. Not sure how the Z06 and the ZR1 can look so classy but the Grand Sport look like an 80's Cadillac to me???

eventhough i like it, a lot of people say the ZR1 is gawdy with the window on the hood. I dont see the GS gawdy at all really. The overall look of the car is pretty much identical to the Z06 and the ZR1

I don't get that impression at all. I alo like the wheel design.

I dont like the GS either. Front fenders are ugly... If it kept the Z06 fenders I may like it a bit more, but they kill it for me. The wide body look also doesnt look right as a convert or with the targa off....
Oh and then theres the fact that the "narrow" C6s are proving to be faster because there lighter and create less drag...
If its not a Z car, i say standard body... Plus the extra 5K a GS costs isnt worth the "performance" (dry sump, coolers, mediocre "big brakes") you get for it... You can do Heads, cam, cai, and exhaust for that price and be over 100 rwhp up from the GS for that cash....
But I guess for those who want somewhat of a Z look for a fraction of the price its a good deal...

I like the Grand Sport and the wheels. But what do I know.
Everyone has their own particular taste.

Looks good to me, certainly not gawdy in my opinion.

I don't think it's gaudy. Indeed, I am spending a considerable sum to make my 06 Vert look a lot like a GS.

I think it is spelled gaudy, meaning flashy, garish, loud and tawdry, like in tastelessly showy. I think many will take exception with this characterization, especially after having paid extra to purchase this model. So, what is the purpose of this post other than to ****-off G/S owners?
Here we go again..................

To each his own.
I think I'd like the style more on a narrow body. But the same can be said of the ZR1. I just don't like the fender flairs (I used to but not anymore).
No Corvette is really gaudy we don't have a lot of chrome (outside of wheels) and there isn't and gold trim, pinstripes, or anything else you'd see on a true gaudy car.
