Trading in my 07 base V6 mustang for $11K.
Don't let anybody rush you. This is a buyer's market and their are many, many more Vettes for sale than buyers for them. The Z51 option is a bonus if you intend to autocross your car on smooth parking lots and so forth because that is what it is intended for, otherwise I would suggest taking the car for an extended ride on less than ideal roads to see if you really enjoy the limitations and consequences of a stiffer than standard suspension. Also think twice about a black car, they look great, until you take them out on the road.

It would be helpful to know what part of the world you're in both in terms of exposure to climate as well as market price - - -you may want to fill in your profile.

Be sure and do your homework - -ask for a VIS report of all service and warranty work performed.

All in all - - sounds like a reasonable deal . . good luck.

Agreed....get a VIS on it for sure. I did that and good thing I did...two cars that looked real good were not

Do you mean $650.00 to tint the windows? If so....that's WAY to much.....at most it should be $400.00 for ceramic tint....

I have only had black cars my whole life...I wouldnt own another color.
It's really not hard to maintain. Especailly with Zaino z5 and z6!!

I however care less about perfection then I do looking mean!! LOL

Price for the 08 seems more then fair and the low miles drops the probability of it being beat on!! Sounds like a good buy!

Mac - good price. If it's the service manager's, ask him to give you the pre-inspection 'free' that will allow you to buy the GMPP from Dennis Fichtner here on the Forum. I'll be calling Dennis is a week or so on mine! Pull the trigger and hang on for a WILD ride!

I have a black 08 Z51 and its not that tough. I just have to wash it once a week.

That said..if it were me? I'd go for a grand sport. I think I saw a brand new one for sale for 44 grand...from one of the forum vendors..

Personally? I'd go for a 1lt Grand sport manual with just the NPP exhaust and it would be RED! I just like red better from a personal choice..

The Black 08 z51 manual is a bad @ss ride and the price is right.

I have nothing wrong with my 08, its a 1lt and I wouldn't sell it for less than 32 if that.

I do recommend a GMPP warranty from one of the forum vendors though. I think I paid 1450 for 4 more years and an extra 48k miles.. with a 100 deductible..

Not that I've needed it but I just like the piece of mind.

Good luck deciding...Both great choices..if you got the coin.

If you know you want a used Vette and you feel this is in good shape I would buy it. I have a 2008 Z51 in black and absolutely love it. I like the options on this car and yes, black is more work but I get so many comments on it that I just love to show it off. The power, handling, and style can't be beat IMHO.

Dual top is the standard removable top plus the transparant top. A great option.

Default Black?

If its not a DD then i say Go For It....If it is going to be a DD then you will spend all waking hours keeping that black beautiful and without any swirls.......Tough choice but unlike Pony's, Vettes owners dont let other Vette owners drive dirty cars....Them there are the rules to our club!

Make sure you have that GM service manager give you an official service history printout. Is he the only owner? Has it had any mods?

Before you buy, give the VIN to your insurance company and have them research it. Remember that a CarFax is totally useless!

Black is a giant PIA to keep clean.
